Hi sirs,

I own a WD media player. Nakakabit sya sa LCD TV. When I play an HD movie (Ironman 7GB or Kingdom of Heaven 2.5GB), the sound's delayed by more than a second. I know that it's the encoding kasi nasa specs naman na 5.1 yun movies nung dinownload ko.

I'm going to purchase HT805PM this week from a PinoyDVD member. I'm planning to run a TosLink from the WD media player to the receiver. Will this solve the audio delay? Or is the problem with the media player?

Believe me, I spent hours researching this problem and I can't seem to get a straight answer. Siguro ako lang me problema. Meron bang nakaexperience na gumamit ng media player with audio delay na nasolve ang problema by using HT805PM?

TIA

How do I make the subtitles appear sa WD TV? I have a movie with subs. The movie file and subs are in one folder. But when i watched the movie and hit options it's telling me that there are no sub titles available. Do the movie file and the subs file need to have the same file name (kasi I renamed the movie file)?

Yes, it should have the same filename, but most of the time *.srt ang extension na gusto ng WD,...
All of my movie collection has a working *.srt file, kaya lahat ay may subtitle...

Good luck sir,..

mine is also gen 1, the problem I got it does not play some mkvs. it could be possible a new codec was used in the conversion. so, may be the same reason your player is experiencing.  :)

set the audio output at Settings = audio/video to digital and let your AVR to decode the audio format either DD or DTS. You can also check the audio format in your computer by it's properties. If you're the one Dloading the files check also the video/video format before doing so.  :)

Guys I also own a 1st gen wdtv, what do you do if you encounter some mkv movies that will not play? I think the message says file unsupported, not sure though. Is there anything we can do on the specific mkv file to fix it and be played eventually?

Kelan ko lang nasubukan ang MKVMERGE, I had a 25GB file na ayaw mag-play sa WD TV Live ko,
a friend suggested I try this program, he told me to turn OFF the compression, at first hindi ko mainitindihan,
so I just installed the program, and started to explore the interface, you'll understand it once you install it,
I may be using a different model, but its worth a shot sa unit mo,... Good luck...

Oh by the way, the program is a nifty one, it allows you to remove any unwanted feature ng file, if you don't like any other subs na nakasama maliban sa english, you will be able to take it out, or vice versa, in which you can attach a subtitle to the file, I often remove other languages na nakasama sa file, mas lumiliit pa ang size nya...

Thanks sa suggestion chief! Might be worth a try. This MKVMERGE software, is it free for download on the internet? Can you post a link where to get it sir?

For anime viewers,
What do I need to know before I purchase this. How can it play 720p or 1080p videos, how's the subs? How's the PQ compared with the PC.

You can buy a remote at the WD Store in SM North EDSA or Abacus Microcomputer at Vmall, Greenhills.
