as far as i know any hdd, powered or otherwise, as long as it's a usb device, can be used in conjunction with the WDTV. even thumbdrives may be used. if you live near paseo de sta. rosa, laguna, you could bring your hdd over and i'd be happy to give you some files.

Currently using an external HDD (externally powered) and an internal HDD (powered by the WD TV) on my WD TV set up. Both are read by the WD TV with no problems.

Hi guys, what sort of mkv files should I look for that can play with the WDTV? I tried a Heroes season 3 720p file and it says it doesn't support the file format. I'd appreciate your suggestions so I can test my WDTV on mkv. Thanks!  :)

I hope you guys can help me with my problem.

My wdtv is connected to an AVR. Everytime I turn on the AVR, I noticed that the wdtv automatically turns on (light). is that normal? I also noticed that even when I turn off the wdtv, my 320gb passport's light is still turned on. is there a way for this to be turned off as well?

Thanks.

the auto on thing is normal, happens to me too. about the passport not powering down, what firmware are you using? the passport should power down when you turn off the wdtv, in my case it does. try updating to the latest firmware first, i read that that fix was included.

moejun - official firmware ba yan or yung beta. What they have on their site is the 1.02 FW but I think some forum members are already on the 1.02.1 (???) beta version.

@moejun

sir may list ka ng hd movies mo?  ;D hehehe.

halos napanuod ko na kasi lahat ng movie sa 1tb ko. gusto ko na mapalitan, i might have some movies na magustuhan mo or you dont have yet. and btw, free ba bro? lolz.

d kaya masita tayo nito..??

anyway, is there a way ba to cancel the resume playback? i think thats causing the 5-10 seconds lag issue during playback. try playing a couple of movies for lets say 10 mins, then watch a full movie and notice the lag issue. i don't know if its just me.  :(

i need your feedback guys to confirm this problem. tia! ::)

yes, and wd should make an option if you want to disable this feature. because from my experience nag lalag talaga sya when i preview some movies. it saves the part of the movie where you stop. but if you play a movie right after turning on the player it plays smoothly naman..

yup, the aac bit is a pain in the behind. as to the resume thing, i guess FOR NOW i can live with it hehe. the only other thing i noticed is the pixelation that occurs sporadically. when that happens, i stop the movie then resume and it goes away.
