confirmed: wdtv passes through DTS. it decodes AC3/Dolby Digital, but i'm not sure about AAC/WMA.

The cheapest that I saw of the WD MyBook Essentials 1TB USB HDD is 6,400.00.. No contents though..

Ganyan talaga...dati-dati, iyun' Panasonic, hanga sila to high heavens kasi affordable siya'

Ngayon WD HDD Player naman.......sa Isang Linggo pag lumabas na lahat nang at nag price war na sa LG Scarlet LCD...ito' naman ang si-sikat......lahat dahil sa affordability......and WD HDD Media player ay ang pinaka-affordable na pwedeng mag-play nang MKV.

Iba talaga pag mura...

Mura nga ang WD pero less capable naman compared sa HTPC and NMT.

Ang talagang magaling ay ang HTPC. Ang NMT, mas mababa sa HTPC, pero mas convenient. Pinaka low-end ang WD, at may playback issues din, pero marami pa ring interesado kasi mura.

Parang si sir thesaint, may HTPC na siya (networked pa nga yata?), pero interesado pa rin sa WD player...

for the sake of science, sinong may gustong mag-compare ng 720p TDK (that you have) sa TDK (that I have - 16GB, 12mpbs)?

sir clondalkin compare natin sa 1080p na 30gb TDK na meron ako. mpegTS container using VC-1 codec.huwaw sa ganda.nga lang di kaya ng MPC-HC and other players.nagka crash except powerdvd8 ultraHD.yun lang may kaya.hardware acceleration pa.dual core proc at only 30-40% load.not bad.

ang sarap ng magdownload.apakamura ng 1TB ngayun sa dospara at sofmap.

I compared na Momay. Oks na Oks na yung 16GB na MKV through MPC, kaya binura ko nalang yung 30GB. Besides, di ko masyadong type ang PowerDVD Ultra unless HD DVD na orig and DVD.

Yeah, very very effective ang hardware acceleration sa PowerDVD. Maski original na HD DVD, mas magaang pa di hamak kesa 1080p na MKV. Sana maging ganon din eventually sa MKVs. Musta Plasma mo?
