I compared na Momay.  Oks na Oks na yung 16GB na MKV through MPC, kaya binura ko nalang yung 30GB. Besides, di ko masyadong type ang PowerDVD Ultra unless HD DVD na orig and DVD.    ;D   Yeah, very very effective ang hardware acceleration sa PowerDVD.  Maski original na HD DVD, mas magaang pa di hamak kesa 1080p na MKV.  Sana maging ganon din eventually sa MKVs.  Musta Plasma mo?

Sorry OT.  Oh Jowi, gusto mong try paduguin natin yung WD Player mo?  Subok lang.  Bring it on Bro.   ;D

hehehe... for me sulit na sa akin wd for the "budget meal" :)

yup just get an external hdd from questlogic and ask for the ninjababez xmas promo .. look for candice

price from QL is 12,650 for the DW TV HD + 1Tb MyBook Essential, based on their posting sa TPC.  if i ask for the "ninjababez xmas promo", will i get it lower pa?  do they include "freebies" with the 1Tb HDD?

My friend got one and he said that there were evident pixellations on mkv files.  Is this remediable by a firmware upgrade?

first things first, has your friend tried playing the same files on a different player (using the same TV if possible)?  baka yung files ang problema.

kase if ever, this will be the first incident of pixellation being reported.

Likewise my brother and I had the same issues with a few .mkv files , probably bec. of how it was encoded . Never happened with Internal releases though.

fyi.

Jowi we can verify this if you bring your WDTV.   Kulit no.  Baka kako gusto mong manood while "working."    Matagal din yung mga 3 hours or so.   Iiwan lang naman kita ;D

Western Digital ito' ano'...lingo-lingo...bumabagsak ang presyo.  ;)

Pasyal pasyal ka lang sa mga PC shops o' kaya' monitor mo ang TipidPC. ;) ;D

Actually, gusto ko lang makasubok ng media player because I havent tried one at all.  ;D

So kung dadalhin mo yung WDTV, ikakabit ko lang sa CRT TV near the working area and probably try watching any 720p TV series.   ;D

i just have qualms over the menu structure.. its to basic and not organized as to what i prefer.

video list view is: video all, recently played, root menu

i would have preferred root menu as the first one for easier browser. other than that im pretty much satisfied since it plays most of my video files and all my mp3 files.

You'll be using CRT tv so its via RCA cable only and will not be having 720p. But it will be very clear compared to normal dvd playback via RCA.

I went on vacation 2 weeks back I brought it along w/ a usb powered extrenal HD. Copied all my kids videos and mp3. I used the hotel tv and works great.

My kids needs music (lullabies) when going to sleep  so I used the tv speaker for audio and just removed the RCA-video connection. This is quite convenient since I dont have to carry all the discs and a portable dvd anymore.

Now, if only it can support usb powered speakers ...

ive tried .mov files and it does not play. havent tried other files though since i just bought it last night at GHills.

other than that, its fairly good for my needs and the price is cheaper than my nike basketball shoes which i use only twice a week  hehe ;D

70% of my video files are divx and avi files and it played without any problems. i'm very satisfied with it except from some quirks:

1. does not do chapter forwards and ff is up to 16x only which will be annoying for a long movie
2.  menu structure is not that user friendly as stated in my previous statement.
3. tried two usbs plug, if you remove the usb that is not in use, the player will freeze. you have to restart the unit

other than that, im loving it.
watching all the videos i compiled in my pc of my 2year old together with her last night is priceless. the HD playback capability is just a bonus for me  ;D

i watched heroes s3ep13 and enjoyed sylar  ;)

Walang component video out ang WDTV?  The test CRT TV is a Sony DRC model...can display D4 (720p).
