Mas naging clear din yung DVD ISO ko compare na mag play sa DVD pioneer DV600...
Bakit kaya? Mas maganda talaga chipset ng WDTV keysa sa mga DVD player...
Or maganda yung upscaling ng WDTV. Naka AUTO (video)kasi yung set-up ng sa akin eh!

Hi Sardaukar, do you notice this too with any of your particular contents (other than the issues of Sin City). Trying to determine what kind of encodes would have issues with the WDTV.  DXVA-Compliant ones seem to be OK, regardless of bitstream and size.

Not video problems but with Band of Brothers (45gb) the sound cuts out every 5 seconds or so. Just for a split second, kaya lang every 5 seconds so it becomes unwatchable.  :(

Just finished watching 2 episodes Bro.  Played perfectly fine and sound is very clear.  I'll check with Pasig later.  Do you already have the latest FW for the WDTV?  BTW, that file has DTS sound stream.

Mukha ngang may mga random issues ang WDTV with MKVs ne.   :(

Oh, that's 720p only, baka sakaling kaya nung laptop mo.  Please try with the laptop and advise the result.

yup, nmt coined by pch makers, so egreat and hdx and some other lesser brands that uses syabas' software (middleware) are all called nmt.

afaik, there is really no one universal term to call these machines yet. digital media receivers, media players etc. keeps coming out.  :)

Assuming the file is not corrupted at all during encoding, downloading or copying process - random in the sense that a particular high def encode of a certain title MAY exhibit some playback issues, even though it can be confirmed that the same content plays well via another player whether it be NMT or PC.   Hopefully makuha sa firmware updates - similar reasoning behind the regular updates of codecs - hotfix of audio and/or video compatibility issues here and there.

We cannot compile and list down the titles for obvious reasons but hopefully, WD is looking at the matter diligently, among other things.

Tried it on my laptop and yeah file's okay. I figured naman it was the player and not the file. And yeah I have the latest firmware. Hopefully it will be addressed in future updates. If not, I can always buy an NMT in a year or so. I figure 6k to 8k na lang siya nun. ;D

Mga sir, can someone confirm if the WDTV is connected to an AVR or HTIB via TOSLINK/Optical able and it is playing an ISO file with DTS audio, will the AVR or HTIB detect/decode and output this DTS audio stream? Will the DTS indicator light up? Thanks!

Hi, anyone here had problems playing the Mummy 3 720p on their WD TV? My friend said it would keep on stuttering every few seconds. Thanks.

Yup. Same issue with LXG even though firmware already updated.

I tested the same movie with KAIBOER K100 and audio works fine. So looks like its codec upgrade required on WD.

Yes works with ISOs with DTS audio , provided WDTV audio output it set to DIGITAL and the DTS audio track of the ISO is selected during playback.

Sir, does it mean that an ISO with DTS audio will have a DTS output wherein the AVR or HTIB's DTS audio indicator will light up just like playing an original disc? If so, will the menu, chapter select and special features of the DVD ISO still be functional? Or only the movie itself are playable? How about the subtitles in the DVD ISO? Are they being diplayed also? Is this also applicable for HD ISO's?

Thanks for helping.

i don't know if the same in the WD TV, in eGreat, when i play an iso file, its just watching a DVD, with full menus which you can select language, audio and subtitles, the same thing if the folder contain a VIDEO_TS, eGreat will play the folder automatically as like playing a DVD disc

+1.  Regarding full Bluray or HDDVD backup, unfortunately you can't see the full menus in NMTs.  You have to manually choose the particular .m2ts or .evo file to watch.
