kahapon nasa bahay lang ako kaya halos maghapon kami nanonood sa bahay, napansin ko lang, considerable din pala uminit itong mga NMT's na ito, wala pa nga ako nilalagay na HDD sa loob.

the main advantage of this NMT is its small size, the aluminum case, and the power button and two USB ports on the left side.

kung halimbawa lang na hindi ito naging best looking NMT according to MPC Club, it still wins over the rest for better heat dissipation and that's coming from another owner who compared it to a HDX-1000 which he also owns.

con: no optical out, napabili tuloy ako ng entry level na AV receiver with coax.

will try to post pics later so you can see how diminutive this NMT looks like in my setup.

the DNS-323, EHP-606 and the set top box all run to a 2-wire gateway

i just tried installing the HDD in the NMT, it's really configured for the NAS doing BT and UPnP duties. BT client is Transmission w/ Clutch  but i'm using the stock UPnP media server which sucks big time, need to upgrade to twonky.

my set-up is all about energy efficiency or at least it tries. the NAS is turned on 24/7 and it's amazingly cool on ambient temp helped in no small part by the Green Power HDD and the NAS itself runs on little juice.

Nice! Congrats on your purchase. Almost the same na rin pala ng price ng mga NMT dito.

Did you manage to update your NMT?  I couldn't find the Electron Firmware/NMT Apps package.  Ours is stuck pre-0808 firmware :(

Got one yesterday ...

This is one real good looking unit compared to the others available . Price is about the same too. Functionality is same I would guess .

But since I have a home network , I used the ehp-606  w/out a harddisk installed and it looks like good enough to replace my htpc.

Hi , I am a newbie here.  I am planning to purchase an NMT player.  So far I narrowed my choice to PCH, Egreat and Elektron.  Can any body here help ?

They are basically similar in functionality and features ...

But currently for me the elektron looks best , but the current choice would depend on your available audio connection.

If you don't have an audio input ( reciever/decoder) w/c  can decode DTS and cannot wait it maybe a better choice to get the PCH 110.

thanks for the info. looks is definitely a plus, considering the new series of the LCD are all aesthetically design.  I have a theater setup, so that DTS decoding should not be an issue.  I think i am going for the Elektron, it looks good with my home setup. Any info regarding the seller at Tipidpc?

I finally got my elektron running. It really looks very nice compare to the other NMT i have seen. Got tons of free movies loaded to my 1TB of hard drive.  Seems I got my xmas present early to see me thru the holidays.  Its the first time I really appreciated my LCD since I bought it 1 years ago.  The local price is really very reasonable compare to importing it from abroad.  I have not tried the BT client yet any feed back regarding these.

Hi all,

i've been using the elektron ehp-606 for a month now since. Happy with it so far.

I used to download all my torrents to my pc (utorrent and rss for tv series), now just configured it to run alone. also installed currently the torrentwatch on elektron and works great, hopefully bumaba ang meralco bills ko since un PC 500watts at eto 30watts lang. :)

Regarding the heating naman, umiinit siya pero mabilis mawala, eh since 24/7 siya bukas dahil sa download linagyan ko ng USB notebook cooling fan sa ilalim and so far (knock on wood) gumagana ng maayos.

Also what i noticed was, i tried comparing the torrent download ng PC ko at etong elektron, totoong mas mabagal siya using the original firmware but since i got it napalitan ko na un firmware to the latest and so far mabilis naman, kasi download speed ko sa PC 140kbps sa gabi (bayantel DSL) pero now umaabot din etong elektron sa ganun speed.

Enjoy.  ;D

Hello Rikardo,

I currently installed the latest version of the firmware - 081023-(606)softwail[2008-12-1]. got it from elektron site (http://www.elektron-china.com/en/xzzx.asp). The starup screen looks better and more manly, also added swedish language to it. I think it was released last December 1 only.

Regarding Wifi, i tried their recommended USB dongled TPlink Wireless N USB, tried it for awhile. its great since you don't have to network wire your setup and easy to install though i reverted back to network cable for stability of signal based on where i placed my elektron.

But if you want convenience its the way to go, for me be it wired or wireless, i like the nmt to be on the network all the time so that i can just transfer files anytime i want to.  ;D

Finally took the plunge and got the Elektron.   Got it from Microstation Shangrila Mall and they preloaded the 1TB HD that came with it.   So far so good.   We are now finally seeing the best our PV80 has to offer.   This small device is so jampacked with features.   Configuring it now to connect to my network and download movies on the fly.   Will keep you guys posted. :)

It's Php 11,000 at Microstation (cash price, cc add 6.5% for straight payment only).  The price balloons to Php 17,900 if you add a 1TB WD sata drive (not clear if this is the Green Power drive).  They also add a good amount of HD content to the hard drive upon purchase.

The product is available online through:

http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=2523102&mask=success

and

http://elektronhd.multiply.com/

I tested it out and it had no trouble playing 1080p, both in mkv's and mp4's.  The interface kinda slows down a bit at times but I think the firmware update should fix that.  The remote looks real good, btw.  The unit's finish is ok but the decals look a bit gaudy to me (to each his own, I guess).
