My personal pet peeve are those who leave that transparent sticker with the orange Sony Trinitron logo on the screens of their CRTs.

It's a STICKER that's obstructing the screen!!! Are you... retarded???  ::)

How about people who leave the stickers on the surface of electronics (digicams, camcorders, TVs, DVD players, etc.) detailing all of the features they have?

Take them off, people! Take them off!!!  >:(

Which gathers dust and moisture and oils that eventually stain the surface of the device leaving a nasty mark. Some protection  ::)

Maybe people are buying it, you think? I still see some mask editions. It's the batpod editions that I hardly see any more.

seems odd for an 895 flawed DVD selling like hotcakes where you can purchase a better version at a cheap price everywhere ::)

Most people don't know it's flawed, and most people don't have high end LCDs or Plasmas.

Fyi, the only flaw so far i have noticed about the bluray rip is that the subtitles were displaced to the point they can't be seen on normal tvs.

Minority or not, I'm not parting with my 895 for a lousy release.  Will still wait for a 350 or less sale.

I was able to borrow the "blu-ray" jack sparrow copy (the one in the blu-ray case). Sobrang ganda ng PQ! Viewing it even on my PC's 22in. LCD running PowerDVD8, ganda pa din ng quality!

And the audio quality is superb as well...it has DD5.1(640kbps) and DTS(768kbps)! My orig copy had only DD5.1 at 384kbps >:( >:( >:(.

Based on Warner's track record, maybe around 1st quarter, 2010.

What I mean is that, we (the minority), who knows that this is indeed a "not worth it" & "lousy dvd" will wait for it to be on sale (tiis-tiis muna!).  But those majority customers (who buys legit) will suffer (the milking..)

The majority won't suffer. For all intents and purposes, it's still a DVD with an "OK" DVD-quality image and they'll hardly complain with regular CRT TV monitors or small LCD screens. That's why this release is still such a big-seller and Warner's claims of it being so are equally true.

It's us, the minority, who've been handed the short end of the stick. Because we know all the technical details and have the equipment (mostly) to know the truth. And the Truth hurts.

So now its an "OK" dvd. Its not ok for P895 price tag. They'll hardly complain if they're using a 14" CRT TV and didnt see the jack sparrow version. And from what I've read here, the P895 editions are selling like hotcakes and most probably a bigger % of these were bought by the majority coz we, the minority, read the complaints after 2 days of release and others even cancelled their orders.

Huh?

I saw it on a 21-inch CRT, by the way. It's "OK" there, too. But not "OK"  for those of us who can compare this to, say, the Blade Runner: The Final Cut release from December 2007 (also released by Warner) -- which I also saw on the same TV and it looked infinitely better than the TDK release.

And from a marketing standpoint, P895 makes sense for this kind of release. Obviously, a lot of people (minority/majority whatever) bought it. It was "OK" for them.

But as some critics have pointed out, the price may have been deserving of this caliber of release, but the poor Picture Quality doesn't. Then again, we go back to the "majority". It's basically the same rationalization. They enjoyed the movie, saw the P895 price tag and thought it deserved it, watched it on their regular TVs and thought nothing of the elements of picture quality (which we here are so anal about). End of story.

That's a valid point. But it takes a certain kind of consumer that will spend upwards of P1500 to P2700 just for an orig DVD with all the trimmings. Present party included  ;D

Still talking about pirated copies here, I see. ;)

Guys, we get it already...PQ is bad. Okay, you're gonna get the 2-disc SE when it goes on sale @ P350...okay! The plastic Batpod is crappy...okay!...this is a great movie, as a lot have already said...but I guess for P350 only. ;) Is Warner gonna do anything about it? WALA! May conspiracy pa na tinago na ng Warner yung mga 2-Disc ed.? Baka naman naubos na...papano yung nagaantay mag-sale? ;)

That's why we're getting our money's worth...coz apparently, almost everybody's waiting to get new releases @ sale prices.

I want to be sensitive here...but guys, your endorsing pirated stuff in a legitimate (original) format forum...

May dts TDK mo!!! Astig!...pirated, but astig nonetheless!

People are discussing pirated because they are frustrated and that it's not the SD limitation but Warner's poor encoding, that's the cause of the poor PQ.  We want to support original stuff but it's frustrating when your neighbor who pays 50 get a better copy (PQ-wise).  This is just venting those frustrations...  many of which (including me) have bought the original TDK already.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
