Help, software can't decode files
« on: Nov 23, 2008 at 03:38 PM »
my new pc can't decode some of my files.

previously, using an old pentium 4 machine, i could play some files just fine. these were simple avi files of movies and tv series. now, on the upgraded machine (to c2d processcor, 8500gt video and 2gb ram) i've used vlc, km player, bs player, media player classic, and none of them can open some of the files.

some messages i get are about not being able to find codecs, or file not supported.

i downloaded these files on my mac, where they play just fine. but on the new pc they won't. have to point out again that the same files downloaded from my mac played just fine on the old pentium 4 machine.

what can i do?

thanks in advance.
