Is there a difference between Canada and American BDs?
« on: Nov 25, 2008 at 10:02 AM »
Hi!

I'm just wondering if there is a difference in CONTENT between BDs bought in Canada and bought in the US? My brother moved to Canada and I just wanted to know if i'll get the same quality and content from there as the ones being sold in the US. I know they're both Region A, but maybe they have their differences, too. Like for example the text being shown on screen that aren't part of the subtitles.

Thanks!

i dont think there will be any difference, i think it will be one and the same. except if this were canadian made movies. but imho, the blurays sold in canada would come from u.s. suppliers.

I think it will be the same also.  Though there have been DVDs that were canadian made the contents of which differ from the US version but still in R1 format.

content wise it is the same. except for the packaging sometimes the Canadian version also have the French translation on the cover art. But there are more steelcase bluray disc releases in Canada. For prices of regular bluray, it is cheaper in the US.
