i seriously doubt it--j.k. rowling fiercely protects her creations with a battalion of lawyers, and is not the mediawhore that stephenie meyer is.

This is annoying but nothing to get riled about.

The ABS CBN version is bound to be a big load of crap. But then Twilight was a big load of crap, probably bigger. No loss.

I think there's an online petition asking ABS-CBN or the copyright owners to stop the project. I'm sure only the die-hard tween fans of the book are signing up there. I agree. It's irritating (the TV version) but it's not something to lose sleep over. It's not like ABS will ruin a classic.

that's true! and these "fans" act as if this book/movie is something so great that they have to protect its legacy. sabi nga ni chocolate sa one night only, "para 'yun lang?"

I fully agree. If they want a great teen vampire movie, then they should watch Let the Right One In. Parang ka-level ng Pride & Prejudice & Revolutionary Road ang Twilight kung makapag react ang mga fans.

Was able to talk to Cathy M. today and she said she's wondering why this news keeps coming out when she herself doesn't know anything about it. She doesn't know anything about the project, so it's determined that she's not involved. As to the truth of the project itself? who knows.

ABS-CBNNews.com posted an erratum clarifying the confusion created by their previous article which confirmed the network's acquisition of the 'Twilight' TV rights:

Erratum on 'Twilight' remake

On December 24, abs-cbnNEWS.com uploaded a story, "ABS-CBN bags rights for local 'Twilight' remake". The source of the story was a report by entertainment writer Edgar Cruz posted on yehey.com.

The duty editor who uploaded the story failed to check with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. whether the story was correct and accurate.

ABS-CBN Corp. Communications head Bong Osorio has since denied that the company will do a local remake of the movie, Twilight.

abs-cbnNEWS.com thus decided to remove the article from our website.
