I think yung chip problem pala causes the marantz receiver to produce sudden high pitch sounds...

tapos read from somewhere else din na some receivers automatically shuts off... read all these sa home theater spot

Nabasa ko rin itong mga problema nang marantz..pero i think yun yung mga unang batch na na release nila..i think marantz already fixed the problem.

There are also issues about the sound delay of  marantz...pero sabi ni sonny wala naman daw silang napapansin na delay

Courage,
i had one sr-4300 where the sound drops out occasionally when playing music cd's on a pioneer dv-655A connected digitally to the receiver. the problem doesn't happen with playing dvd's though. the unit was promptly replaced by the good supplier.

Sir, have u notice a sound delay when playing DVD's like when u pause then play it again or..when u skip chapters. Yung tipong nag paplay na nang around 1-2 secs. saka pa lang lalabas ang sound.

How about pag pinapalitan mo ang language nang nag paplay na DVD. Usually may mga DVD's na maraming language like DTS,DD5.1, Dolby 2 Channel, Dolby 2 Channel french..etc...usually the delay occurs daw pag nag palit ka nang language. so halimbawa ur playing a disc na  naka DD 5.1 so the ur Amp will shift to DD 5.1..then pinalitan mo yung languag nang DD 2.0 so the receiver will automatically shift to DPL or DPL2..during shifting of surround modes..dun daw nagkakaroon nang delay..which i read na minsan eh umaabot nang 2-3 secs ang delay bago lumabas ang sound.

so far, no sound drop outs on my SR4300 when playing CD. I'm using Pioneer CLD-D500 for playing CD's and it is optically connected.
Although, noticed delay in sound when playing DVD particularly when scanning scenes. The display dot matrix display changes from "DOLBY D" to "NO DATA". Sound comes out once display switched back to "DOLBY D". but the delay in sound does not take more than 1 or 2 secs. while when skipping chapters, sabay naman yung sound sa video.
i'm using a Pioneer DVD-K302CD and it is digitally connected using coax.

hyper audio/ courage,

happened to know what particular models aside from earlier SR4300 ay may problema na binabanggit nyo sa taas.

this is just my 2-cents...

i think that the "delay" that's being talked about here IS NOT a problem...in fact it is beneficial..why did i say that??? because hindi mabibigla yung speakers especially when switching from dd 5.1 to dts 5.1 etc...

my NAD has a 1.5 second delay but i find it very helpful especially for my speakers...i think we need to have a paradigm shift on delays  ;D

my previous marantz sr4200 has a 1 second delay, and one "problem" also is when you play the first track of a cd using the digital in, the first few seconds are not heard.

I think the reason's just because the Amps need time to trigger on...

when the cd starts playing, tsaka pa lang made-detect nung amp. tsaka pa lang mag tri-trigger on.. kaya na de delay ng ilang seconds. That's just normal.

Same thing with my amps..

I've read from other forums that the new marantz models sometimes automatically shuts off... I think this has something to do with a chip in the receiver... anyway, thought you guys would like to know lang, in case you experience this, have it changed to a newer one agad...

bago siguro ang nakuha ko kasi i played mine 7 hours straight one time, no problem.....

Para sa akin kung 5 secs na ang delay aba eh nakakainis na yun..imagin 5 secs nang nag paplay yung movie saka mo pa lang maririnig yung sinasabi...try playing a movie and count to 5 secs. :)

I guess if you can live with the delay, ok na rin ang marantz... pero 5 seconds is too big... mga 1-2 seconds pwede pa :)

Pare try playing with ur DVD players Language or Audio button..some titles kasi has multiple language in which u can change the audio to 2 channel stereo, 2 channel stereo in french, DD 5.1 DTS, etc....

If u change the Audio signal from ur player..ur AVR will automatically shift to another surround mode...during shiftting nang mode dun mo mapapansin ang delay..kung baga halimbawa naka 5.1 ang audio mo then pinalitan mo nang 2 channel..ur AVR will automatically shift to DPL or DPL2..

Although i think minsan kaya nag dedelay eh gawa din sa player...what i dont understand eh yung delay pag Audio CD na ang nag paplay or pag nag skip ka nang track in wich wala namang shifting nang mode na nangyayari ( nabasa ko lang ito sa ibang thread)

have tried switching to different surround modes while playing dvd's and even CD's pero walang delay. of course, there is a slight pause kasi your switching ( using the big dial knob on the left front panel )from one mode to another.

maybe the problem is true for the first released of the said model but not on the one i have.

also, there was a problem mentioned on another forum that the sorrounds is producing a high pitch sound with no input signal. but never experience such problem.

probably na-correct na nila ito sa mga latest units :)

yung marantz SR4300 ay mabibili mo ng P15.5k. malamang kung makakahanap ka ng 4200 sa pinas  mas mababa sa P15.5k :)

question lang po sa marantz,

Is the marantz sr 4300 belongs to high current type receivers? I have auditioned the audience 42 paired with marantz sr 4300 at listening in mega and I think it can drive the 4 ohm 42's very well considering that its only 80 wpc.

hindi ko pa nasubukan yung denon 1803 but for the marantz sr4300, have tested it both for mission and wharf set up. okay naman  ( para sa akin )

would suggest that you audition both AVR's. much better kung ma-test mo using same speakers of your preference like wharf or mission.

in terms of price level, the 1803 is not matched with sr4300( mas cheap ). kaya once you have auditioned both and find them good, choose the one where you can save up add it to your speaker purchase.

for audition, please do check out Home Theater and look for Sonny Tuazon.   :)

marantz use high current amps although its not on the same price range as a 1803, if you can stretch your budget you can get an sr5300 for ~25k ok naman marantz sa wharfs and missions although sa bass in my opinion pero sa midrange mas gusto ko young sa wharfs.
