Yan nga problem.  I've seen in the dynaudio thread in avsforum some people using the SR7001 with no problem.  Thats why I bought the SR8001 thinking kung walang problem yun SR7001, what more yun SR8001 which should be the top of the line sa mga receivers and having a torroidal power supply. Some even use Onkyo Receiver (which is supposed to be at a lower level than Marantz) on the even more demanding Dynaudio Confidence.

Anyway, right now its working fine pa rin except for the protect mode from time to time, but I guess I probably will have to look for a NAD master series nalang.  Any of you guys know where I can find this?  Thanks!

I used this combo (Marantz+Dyn) and was happy until the Marantz died. Now its NAD+Dyn pero miss ko ang musicality ng Marantz. Gamitin mo na lang ang LR preouts ng Marantz and use a NAD amp to drive your Dyns. The musicality of Marantz plus the bordering brightness of NAD plus smoothness of Dyns will seem to sound just right.

Yep actually kukunin ko na nga uli baka nangangalawang na doon. Downfall nga lang ng Marantz ang service kasi 'til now wala pa atang authorized dealer/ service center.

Got my Marantz back un repaired. :-[

But thanks for this link, its working again !!!

Just in case someone else runs into this problem, the solution was to reset the amp by holding down the "S. Speaker B", "ATT", and "EXIT" buttons for three seconds. Somehow this was not documented in the manual, I found it in some dusty old forum.

Amp is back to working perfectly again.

I appreciate your response but just to be clear, this was not a thermal/ventilation issue, it went into protection mode when the power kicked a few times due to a brown out, I did try unplugging everything except the AC power but it wouldn't come out of protection mode until I reset it.

Now I can try
Marantz - NAD - Dynaudio

Try mo inquire sa 5Th Ave baka sakali mayroon silang mga old remote. Sila kasi ang dating distributor ng Marantz SR6300. Or inquire sa Listening In Style or Audioworld technician kung may paraan to get universal remote. My friend lost his remote but he bought the replacement sa eBay.

I like what I've been hearing so far. Sounds much better on both stereo and 5.1 compared to my previous Onkyo AVR. Sound suits my preference (a bit warm), which I sort of expected from a Marantz + Polk Audio combination. :)

I've yet to tinker with the Audyssey setup. Might give it a shot this weekend.

That's only the max - depending on your usage. If you crank max everything in your receiver - it will read 650 watts on your meralco meter!

You can check out Marantz NR-1501 or NR-1601 based on your preference mentioned above. Ideal for small room and a moderate budget. I think the NR-1501 goes for php22k. Both models can be connected to a computer or DVD player. Try checking out Listening In Style as they still have those models.
