I've read the specs, but, medyo noob pa ako sa mga receivers hehe
will the quality of sound in movies/music differ between both? and what does DSD thru hdmi offer in 6008?

The Marantz sr5008 should work well enough for you. I recommend the sr6008 if you need the phono input, 2 Hdmi outs or the need to choose between front high or front wide.

Does anyone here own the Marantz SR7007? How is the performance and how satisfied are you? I have read little review of the receiver but I got it because it was in a great sale price of $950 with tax paid by store, msrp is $1799 plus tax so it was a difficult deal to pass up. I am replacing my current Pioneer VSX-1122 because I am about to build my own dedicated HT room and I can't resist the urge of an upgrade esp. with a great sale of the unit.

Kindly share your personal input if you own the SR 7007. Thanks.

My old marantz pm44se's left channel is weak, confirmed after interchanging the cables. Anyone who had a similar problem? Interested in knowing if parts were replaced. Thanks!

Edit: fixed using contact cleaner.

Mga gurus, patulong naman po sa Marantz SR5008. Meron kasi akong speaker cable na may banana plugs pero may parang plastic seal na naka-block dun sa speaker connection ng receiver. Paano po tinatangal yun?

you can just pry them out with a small screwdriver.

AVRs are quite musical though a dedicated 2 channel amp is still better.

as much as possible I'd match the left and right speaker to what ever the center is.

For the perfect timbre match, get AN speakers with the same drivers as your fronts for your center and surrounds, or AT LEAST for the center. Timbre matching is not needed for the sub so any decent sub will do, but it would be wise to get the biggest baddest sub that your room (and wallet) can accommodate. 20k budget? Mahirap yata pagkasyahin if sub is included. Choices would be limited to the lower model commercial subs.

So ipon mode pala ulit ako for center, baka meron pwedeng murang alternative na babagay while on ipon mode for center. Mahal kasi ang AN.

Receivers' modern processing/equalization can tailor the center and surround speakers to "approach" the frequency response of the fronts, so you can still get by with other speakers if you're not that picky when it comes to timbre matching.

I have PM80 Marantz Amp bought from a fellow pdvd member last 2012 but has recurring problem with sound output. There's static sound and "garalgal" effect, need to press "processor" to fix sound output. Was repaired by AVX shop in Harrison, but problem recurs. Please suggest reliable technician who could help bring my amp into its pristine sound state again. Yung pwede po sana mag on-site sa Greenhills, San Juan Area. Sorry for the OT.

^_Dapat po yan iwan sa place nung technician na gagawa para ma-observe yung condition while playing music continously, it might be a leaking capacitor, fluctuating value of bias trimmer or a carbon on the selector switch...much better if a well experienced tech, trusted would check the unit...kaso mahal ang singil nyan...
