Nope. The last time I saw a copy was at National Bkstre at Robinson's Place. However, the book was terribly messed up. The dustjacket has a lot of tears and the spine's relatively torn up. The only thing that kept the pages from falling are what's left of the string hinges.

And that's all you get for a P2,000+ copy? Even if it's the last one, I'll have to think twice.

I don't know. Maybe you could try going to Rob Place. Wala ba sa SM North?

What I'm searching now online are Nick de Ocampo's books on the history of Philippine Cinema. I think he finished the second of the trilogy eh (the first one tackles the Spanish influences till the end of its conquest, then the American occupation till the 1950s, and i believe the last one--or so I heard, begins with the 1950s to the present). I think each costs around P900 - P1,000 (that's a softcover one, i don't know if they issued a hardcover).

The Urian Anthology Book (the latest one) was published by Antonio Tuviera of TAPE, INC. if I'm not mistaken.

Is the book by the critics Urian Anthology still available on the market? Cant see any copy anymore on Powerbooks and National Bookstore branches.

I think dalawang edtions na ito: 1970s and 1980s. Our library has the 1980s edition.

Our copy is the 1980-1989 timeline. We got this from a book jobber at P3200 last year.

I have the 2nd Urian Anthology (1980's).  It's a great book and contains a lot of pictures, essays and reviews of select movies from the 80's.

I am actually looking to buy the 1st edition (1970's).  I'm not successful so far....I know that it's out of print now, but there should be some used copies somewhere....

I always see the first Urian Anthology book on National Bookstores & Alemars during my elementary days as I always dragged Manang Ising in those bookstores.......its thin and softbound.

If only I knew that it would be out of print I should have bought it with my allowance.

RE: "The Urian Anthology 1980-1989"

Ok, this might not be the Lost and Found  thread, but just wondering, if anyone happens to read this thread and has a copy of this book WITH THE OWNERS SIGNATURE ON IT (eg will just give the initials M.J.B., date, on the title page and on p. 13), I lent this book to someone back in UP-Diliman around 1986-89. 1st edition, this. And long missed.

PM me, just in case? (no questions asked).  O0

thanks!

Wow, University of Wisconsin SEA Studies. I imagine it's not like the old Filipino scriptbooks then, with pictures througout (I have a copy of "Moral" that's like that). Is is it available to be purchased online?

saw a copy of URIAN ANTHOLOGY 1970-1979 at the CCP Shop last monday for a whopping 14,000pesos! is it worth its price tag? Have not seen a copy of this since forever and might not see it again. Your thoughts.

I'm quite fortunate to be among the very few who has a copy of the book... 14,000 php is a little steep but if you can afford the price, I say go for it. Just make sure it's in good condition.

naku sir jo, i'm really contemplating on it. might ask if they accept CC payment and pay in installment nalang. saw on other internet posts that they got it for 1.5k.

compared to the CCP price it is REALLY expensive. It still has its jacket and the book itself is in good condition.

Even saw some press kits for Cinemanila (complete set of their films) 6k, Oro, Plata, Mata 4k and Bona 4k at the CCP shop. They are really taking advantage of the Cinemalaya run this week!

If they'll agree to an installment plan then go and get it. Selling the book for 1.5K is taking advantage. I would assume that no one has shown interest in buying it for that price.

I was told that they're also selling posters of old movies... I wonder for how much?

I've been looking for the Urian Anthology 1970-1979 to complete my collection but 14,000 php is too pricey.  If it's in mint condition, maybe.  It's weird that they are selling a copy and the CCP library only has a photocopy version of it.  Bona poster is tempting.
