Thanks guys. I still think the compression makes the sound bad.
In the link you gave the poster was comparing a DD5.1 versus a DTS5.1 audio track. That's not an apples to apples comparison.AFAIK, MKV surround audio files (DD or DTS) is a direct stream copy from the original source and is not re-encoded in anyway. Any difference will be down to your audio hardware.
pareho lang
In my experience with some MKVs when they are encoded with DTS audio, yung dialogue seems a little low. I had to pump up the volume a bit to get the vocals out. But with the effects, wala prob.
Bottom line, I have TERRIBLE room acoustics which is affecting the overall SQ of my set up. Sobrang liit na wala pang treatments. Sana God will give me a new house.
Yup. If you have a small room, your speakers will be located close to the walls. Plus, your listening position will also be close to a wall. Both are not good and cause all sorts of acoustic problems. In so far as room size is concerned, the bigger the better. After which, you should provide acoustic treatments.
I noticed that most of the .mkv's i have downloaded which have DTS and DD encoding do not sound as good as the DTS and DD from DVD's. Is it because of the compression etc? Ganito ba talaga or ako lang nakakapansin?Lance
ok naman sakin ang DD (acceptable), ung DTS lang talaga ang mahina ang sound.
