I think it's a parody/satire site.

And a very good one at that--some of the posts are hilarious  :D

After that Takipsilim fiasco, I'm already wary of believing rumors like this. I'll just wait for an official confirmation before reacting negatively.

The site could just become my new favorite place on the net. Just read this post about allegations of homoeroticism in the new ABS-CBN drama Tayong Dalawa:

http://deejayap.wordpress.com/2009/01/24/group-protests-%E2%80%98homoerotic-scenes%E2%80%99-in-new-soap/

The article's really funny especially since my mom and our help has been watching this obsessively and I've actually heard the dialogue on the scenes mentioned.

It's twice as funny for me, since I have an extremely religious Tita named "Emma Quintos," and her daughter is actually a director with Star Cinema/ABS CBN.  ;D

Not necessarily true. Star Cinema's developing a movie right now where Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz play a gay couple.

Nanggaya na naman ang ABS . . . ::)

I suppose it was a matter of time. Love of Siam was a huge hit at Cinemanila. . .  ::)

i mean, an entirely gay movie. this movie will revolve more on Vilma's character and how she deals with his son being gay, ala extended ricky davao-gloria romero story in american adobo.
Absolutely no regrets!

They tend to shoot movies outside the country even if it's unnecessary (like the one with KC).
Yep, their movies are so generic...basically it's the same kind of story just different set of actors (and sometimes location).
Cinema One is owned by ABS-CBN?  Then I forgive them.  At least they have some support to the indie scene.
Their DVDs are expensive.  Although a big plus is that they almost always have subtitles.

...but GMA Films is no better...

My wife told me that you would not believe the amount of really good ideas pitched to both the TV and Movie divisions. They even have a pitch day for employees where you can pitch any idea you have. The problem is that when they hear a really good idea, it is reworked and reworked endlessly until you the final product -- generic fluff that is as far away from the original idea as Pluto is to the Sun.

Hopefully, this year is the beginning of some changes. I heard there's a Maricel mystery-thriller being worked on and there is talk of following the Korean/Japanese tradition of just doing mini-series type of shows.

there's Marilou Diaz-Abaya's May Nagmamahal Sa 'Yo which i think is the only excellent film they ever produced.

Is it the highest grossing movie at Cinemanila last year? It's one of my favorite movies of 2007.

And yes, even the characters have echoes of The Love of Siam.  ::)

true true true! i was once part of the creative team.  ;D

one film i remember that i hate so much from them was MILA. i am a teacher and i felt that the movie didn't capture what being a teacher is all about. even teachers who saw it before had the same feeling. i was told that the original script was very good. it was for nora. but then, because it starred maricel and was directed b joel, major changes had been made to suit the two, to the detriment of the whole film. oh well.. that's star for you!  :D
Absolutely no regrets!
