Problem with DTS using WDTV?

Share ko lang.

Some MKV files compiled with DTS audio. And when it play on WDTV, no output on LCDTV using HDMI/stereo jack.
My suggestion is to convert the DTS to AC3 and compile again.
At least 2 na yung audio. May DTS ka na, may AC3 ka pa.
Hindi naman affected yung PQ ng video.

Demux the DTS audio of MKV file with TSmuxer.
Convert DTS file to AC3 file with DTS2AC3
Add the AC3 file with the orig MKV file with MKVmerge.


Just google na lang...

yup, because the WDTV has no DTS decoding, same scenario in eGreat, we are all waiting for the DTS decoding firmware to be available soon (sana)

Im using Audio Converter to include AC3 track of the original DTS audio back to the MKV file itself

Sir if you use this method, how long is the conversion per mkv file? Can you use batch conversion?

depend on the PC you are using.
i'm using intel E-8400 3.0GHZ C2D

this is what i use to convert dts to ac3. it has batch conversion :) and you can choose to keep the dts audio if you want, bale ac3 and dts. :)

after the conversion, lower file size due to lower bitrate of the audio file. ~300-500mb smaller in size. pero hindi ko pa natry compare ung audio talaga because i dont have a dts decoder :)

Meron dapat, but the main objective is to allow the WDTV to be connected directly to a TV and hear the audio stream - kahit na stereo sound lang .  So sa intended set-up palang, expected na mas mababa ang quality of sound pero oks lang yon.

I tried using this.  It isn't compatible with all of my mkv files.  If you do batch conversion, if one file cannot be converted, it stops there. 

I still resorted to mkv2vob for those files that cannot be converted by the mkv audio converter.

yup minsan nagkaka ganun din ung sakin. what i do is either do a force cleanup of the dts track using the program, or rename the file. minsan nasa naming lang, for some reason pag na rename na yung ibang files or ilipat ko ng directory tutuloy na siya.

newbie po... ask ko lang po kung meron bang converter ng dts to ac3 pero mkv pa din format nya after convertion? yung mkv audio converter kasi ayaw gumana sakin. yung mkv2vob gamit ko ngayon pero .mpg na format nya after convertion. tnx!

meron
use mkv merge to get the dts component of mkv file
convert dts to ac3
then merge the ac3 to original mkv file using mkv merge again
