Hey sirs,

2009 is the year I let go of the Samsung HTIB and start taking this "hobby" SARSiously :) I was hoping everyone could chip in and recommend hardware and shops for my dream HT setup for our small 2 BR condo.

Your Canvass:

Usage breakdown of my current and future HT setup:
40% cable TV
30% movies
20% PS3
7% audio
3% videoke

Looking to buy:
1- 7.1 receiver
2- speakers, sub
3- wires
4- new rack, carpet, misc.

Misc. Factors:
1- Want to see as less wires as possible.
2- Budget (around 70K for hardware, installation)
3- Have 2 dogs
4- Have 1 wife :)

Was initially looking at a Denon all Wharfe value setup but am open to all suggestions!

Infant SARS Victim,
Marc

I'll give this a shot ;D

For widescreen, you have LCD & Plasma. Im not so sure nowadays, but channel surfing is faster with a plasma than LCD if thats a consideration. 40% ang usage mo sa cable kasi eh.

AVRs/speakers/sub - there are so many brands & features out there and will mate with various speaker brands as well. Since its a subjective matter - you have to do a bit of leg work in auditioning these brands.

Goodluck! ;)

Have you listend to B and W? You could try to go to the Home Theater in Makati they quoted a HT set up that is in your price range and they are good at it. If you get there you could visit me at my condo we share the same building with Home Theater  :)

Hi Milk,

How big is your HT area?  Will you have a dedicated room? I think this will help determine the choice of gear you will get. ( for example. Viewing distance and the size of your tv.  Bookshelfs or floorstanders?)

Cheers and Goodluck on the project:)
