this brand is good so far in their VCD Players and can anyone from our group tested this NOVA DVD Players and can match the Famous NEXTBASE?

btw, this brand is commonly seen at UNIWIDE STORES.

last week until yesterday ay nagtry ako nung mga china-made dvd players na nag-play ako ng mga
cdr and dvdr:
jpeg (pictures)
palsecam
cd in dts and hdcd format

american home
hyundai *
kolin
konka
nova *
optron
pensonic
promac
xenon *

all in asterisk played the disc easily and no problem at all.
with dts decoder, too.

data tested from 4 appstores just for reference and no bias, fyi.

dolby pro-logic II settings

Hiya Vax, How much is this?

I saw some good DVD players lately with prices at the 2,100-2,500 range. China made post your own brand generics(e.g. Rongxing on faceplate,Suao on menu)

.
They seem to have the same features as the Nova, such as progscan, proper PAL-NTSC conversion,DPL2,VGA port,etc.

A fellow member,(think it's Battoussai) had a Nova before,and in fact, I believe had posted his impressions three years ago....however, I believe,after a year of use/abuse (correct me if I'm wrong) it malfunctioned.

It's indeed a worthy replacement for my XTREME 6500A that recently conked out after almost 2 years of use/abuse

Ayoko nakakabasa ng ganitong post. Parang pumapangit tuloy ang current players ko. At parang humihingi pa ng isa pang players sa bahay pag nagkataon. Kanina may nangangati sa player na ito. Ngayon naman naglalaway ako. Kung DivX capable pala ito, talagang wala nang hahanapin pa.

Mas bago yung Mediatek1379 Type 2 chipsets...dati ang gamit nung mga matitinong Nextbase DVD players is yung Type 1 lang hence the newer the better features which explains din yung difference ng hitsura ng setup menu (mas madaming setup options for video and audio) nya as compared sa ibang generic DVD players (limited lang) mas maa-apreciate mo siya pag nakita mo yung setup menu ng NOVA mas extensive siya

Hey Senor Monzki --- pa ki review mo nga ung HDCD capability nya? does it really give justice to HDCD? HDCD player na lang kasi kulang ko and if NOVA maximizes the sound quality promised by HDCD i think i will also have to get this --

Yup! I agree mas gwaping yung Xtreme 6500A tapos integrated pa sa unit yung setup menu so in case masira remote buhay pa rin unlike now sa Nova pag bumigay remote yari... $:-\$

Don't worry Bro. May nabibili nang generic remote controller para sa generic DVD players, though kailangan na i-test mo yung compatibility sa unit. Yung isang seller dito, VMS unit nya tapos pang nextbase yung nabili nya remote, ang forward button ay number 6, ang backward ay 4, so on.

Mali po! Meron siyang OSD, DISPLAY[/color] yung button sa remote please refer to Remote Pic 2

You can toggle the DISPLAY button to show the Total Time, Elapsed Time and Remaining time of a DVD movie/ DVD chapter

Hi Monzki,

For sale ko na ung xtreme 65K ko for P1,500 para mapalitan ko na ng Nova. Convinced kasi ako sa mga descriptions mo dito. Satisfied naman ako dun sa xtreme ko, habol ko lang sa Nova yung bitrate display at new chipset, late batch na kasi nabili kong extreme kaya wala na itong bitrate display.

Please post naman yung link ng Nova DVD website, if meron. Paki post na rin yung full model number ng Nova mo kasi search ko sa google Nova 698 hindi makita e.
