My father-in-law subscribed to this... pero parang hindi sulit sa price so he will stop the subscription first. Once there are more HD channels, and if the price is lowered, he will consider it again. medyo buggy rin kasi yung set-top box. Sometimes, it doesn't react well with the remote. You'll need to reset the unit for it to work again.

Siguro if they have around 20 HD channels already, and the price is the same, then join na rin ako! :-)

so it will be a total of 10 hd channels including voom, history and playhouse that was already there before? I don't mind paying additional 500 as long as you have better choices for hd channels. That is the reason why i subscribe to Cignal.

I hope Cignal can give us free 2 months for early subscribers like me.

for the consumer who wants it all, it seems the best way is to avail of another service provider's SD, like sky or global, and get Cignal's HD content din. however this is a hassle. and way more expensive.

Checked this 4:30AM, updated na EPG, nakalagay na 7 new HD channels, kaso Star Sports and Sony Entertainment pa lang ang may broadcast, maybe later in the day, mag bro-broadcast na lahat ng HD channels. Ang nadagdag lang na SD channel ay Cinemax, pero more to come pa daw na SD and HD. Now, check ko muna quality ng new HD channels. Will keep you guys posted.

voom hd channel was taken out of the line up. Only 8 hd channels as of now. They were HBO (no signal yet), star movies (no signal yet), FX (broadcasting), History, Playhouse, Sony entertainment (broadcasting), ESPN (no signal yet) and star sports (broadcasting).

Customer service of cignal informed me of additional hd channel on oct. 19.

I hope cignal subscriber can get full broadcasting for the next few days.

2. pwede ba sya gamitan ng splitter like cable na pwede kahit ilang tv or one connection one tv lang?
3. ano ito may parang "digibox" na instead na sa hdtv ka maglilipat ng channel eh dun ka sa "digibox" maglilipat? Di ko kasi magets yung nasa site nila na "Set Top Box"
4. Set Top Box = Digibox ??
5. Mabilis lang kaya magapply for this and what usually ang requirements?

How'd you know that these channels are upconverted from SD to HD? did they specify this or did you see notice from the signal quality? and another question - how do these upconverted channels compare to their SD counterparts? Malaki ba ang difference?

1. yes, available in manila, (im from sampaloc area)
2. no, one stb per tv.
3. yes, you have to use the receiver's remote to navigate the channels. just set your HDTV to AV input
4. yes, though it's a proprietary sat box but commonly referred as such.
5. yes mabilis lang, contact their cust. service 895-6353 or by email at [email protected]

i only pay P390 / month (sd lineup) since wait mode pa sa mas maraming HD channels line up

One tv per digibox. But you can use splitter on other additional tv. Ang problema lang ay paglipat ng channel ng isa, yung iba din maglilipat ng channel. Di ko lang sure kung mag-iiba quality ng hd channels.

i paid 6590.00 on the day the installer installed the unit. It includes. 1 HD Set Top box, Smart card, Cignal dish and 1 month subscription fee.

on the question on how to recognize true HD and upconverted. Firstly, you will notice the broadcast. HD content are really defined, small things are noticeable, even makeup. Upconverted broadcast is like watching dvd on an upconverter/upscaller player, so clearer compared to SD. Second is that the station ID of the content provider usually boast that they are in HD, e.g. History-HD, Discovery-HD, etc. In the case of HBO HD, HBO flashes from time to time "you are watching "title of show/movie" in High Definition" since they can not put yet HBO-HD in their station ID since HBO is broadcasting the same show/movie in SD.
My initial experience w/ HBO-HD last weekend were superb. Watched Sydney White, Hellboy II and Mama Mia!, all in blu-ray quality broadcast.
