Could Mendoza having funding and film distribution from France might have something to do with it? It seems like Serbis and Kinatay will get R1 DVD releases. Both have been listed on Netflix for members to queue.

Just a warning to all buyers:

The 2010 DVD of TIRADOR released by Viva is the CENSORED version. The uncut version available locally is a 2008 released VCD by Sinehan Digitales.

I'm guessing it's also likely that the 2010 Viva release of SERBIS will be a slightly edited version, as well. Will confirm this once I have more details.

wow! really?

what parts were cut in Tirador? I have it on VCD and was wondering what parts need censoring?

I already own the r1 version of Serbis, so I'm not bothered by it.
Absolutely no regrets!

Just saw the first few minutes, stopped when I noticed an awkward cut when they barged in on the couple having sex, then compared the scene to my previously-sealed VCD. The male/female frontal nudity was removed.

nit yet. i hope that it will be available eventually. some filmmakers are hesitant to release their DVDs locally because of piracy.  :(

sir hankey, na-pull na lahat yung previously released vcd version e. sayang di ko agad binili. ang mahal kasi for a vcd. sayang naman yung viva-released dvd kung may cut. attractive pa naman yung cardboard slipcase. pero i saw a bootleg dvd copy and i think it is uncut. kasi the scenes you mentioned were intact.

Absolutely no regrets!

Hindi ko sigurado po kung putol din yung Serbis. Hindi ko na binili, dahil meron na ako nung Region 2 French release na uncut with special features. Bad trip yung special features - in French without English subtitles. Hehe!

sir hankey, yung pirated copy ng tirador i think ito yung first version ng vcd. kasi naka-burn yung english subtitles e. pero malinaw at walang cut.

yung pirated copy ng serbis is region 2 french sguro. kasi ang ganda ng special features pero in french. uncut din ang movie and super linaw.ang ganda pa ng cover - yung nasa loob sila ng sinehan.

jekoy, yung region 1 ba serbis meron ding special features?

I have the original French DVD's (bought from Amazon France) of Serbis, Foster Child and Tirador.  I also have the original locally released VCD of Tirador with burn-in subtitles.  The DVDs are of excellent quality, I guess because they're in dual layer DVD while locally released DVDs are almost always in single-layer DVDs.  My minor complaint with the French release is that of course they don't have English subtitles.  The Tirador VCD is a bit pixelated for my taste but it's uncut (I guess it's not the Viva release).

R3 Pinoy copy of Serbis is not the uncut version! No subtitles, too, so sa mga di Kampampangan, di nila maiintindihan 'yung dialect.
Absolutely no regrets!
