This is what I am waiting for and the reason I bought the egreat M34

Tested and no issues so far .. DTS downmix works as advertised , just set the dts output to analog pcm.

Also solved is the DTS dropouts I used to experience on my AVR ...

Now I can get back my HTPC for other uses...

successfully upgraded my m34a...no receiver pa kasi ako..so far so good..mga dts hi def ko...may audio na even wala pa ako receiver

upgrade na sa mga wala pang HT set up hehehe

this dts down mix support firmware is a good one.. para sa mga walang avr setup atleast we could still enjoy dts encoded files.

The DTS downmix works fine on the 31B but somehow, playback of heavier contents became a little bit sluggish - relative to an old FW.

Download the latest firmware for EG-M31B sa Egreat site.

Unzip the files to the root (main/top) directory of a USB Thumbdrive. I use Winrar but other file extraction programs should be fine.

Connect that USB Thumbdrive to the Egreat and turn on the unit

Choose the directory corresponding to that USB Thumbdrive, lalabas yung 4 icons. Choose mo yung TEXT icon (the rightmost one).

Lalabas yung LINDA file. Choose that, press Enter - lalabas yung firmware file, choose that, press Enter ulit - then let Egreat do it's thing. Dont touch anything until the upgrade is 100% completed.

Automatic na mag-restart yung Egreat after completing the firmware upgrade.

After upgrading the firmware
Pasok ka sa Set-Up ng Egreat, choose Video/Audio - scoll right and down through the options - tapos dun sa box about DTS and AC3 i-set mo sa ANALOG PCM. SAVE the settings and go back to the content list. That's it.

thanks!can i upgrade the firmware one by one?so i'll download january firmware and the nmt then the february firmware and lastly the june firmware..my question is how do you install the january nmt?

No need. I upgraded from a very very old FW straight to the latest one.

I didnt touch the NMT apps because I dont have an internal drive installed. But my guess is, the general procedure for upgrading the NMT apps would be similar if not the same as that of firmware, i.e., download, unzip to thumbdrive, then access the file(s) through remote control operation of the Egreat.

Yun lang yata ang na-bago sa playback?

I'm actually disappointed that VC-1 playback felt sluggish compared to that of old FW version - but effective DTS downmix is more than enough to compensate for that. Konti lang naman yung mga malalaking VC-1 encodes and the PC can handle those well. Ang lakas and malinaw ng sound quality kahit TV speaker lang. Playback of 720p and 1080p x264 files feels the same so far - but I want to test kung na-solve yung particular problem sa 1080p na Wanted.

I havent really tested kung na-solve na yung occasional audio drop out sa DTS sound stream - because naka DTS downmix ako since Saturday.

i'll keep muna old firmware in my 31B, if no other amazing feature added. Mas gusto ko kasi discrete Dolby Digital and DTS sound for my main HT.

plan ko kasi mag karoon ng 2nd set-up in bedroom, baka dun kailangan ko na ng DTS decoder.

based on observation, it will convert discrete DTS 5.1 or 6.1 channel signal to 2 channel stereo signal
