Download the latest firmware for EG-M31B sa Egreat site.

Unzip the files to the root (main/top) directory of a USB Thumbdrive. I use Winrar but other file extraction programs should be fine.

Connect that USB Thumbdrive to the Egreat and turn on the unit

Choose the directory corresponding to that USB Thumbdrive, lalabas yung 4 icons. Choose mo yung TEXT icon (the rightmost one).

Lalabas yung LINDA file. Choose that, press Enter - lalabas yung firmware file, choose that, press Enter ulit - then let Egreat do it's thing. Dont touch anything until the upgrade is 100% completed.

Automatic na mag-restart yung Egreat after completing the firmware upgrade.

After upgrading the firmware
Pasok ka sa Set-Up ng Egreat, choose Video/Audio - scoll right and down through the options - tapos dun sa box about DTS and AC3 i-set mo sa ANALOG PCM. SAVE the settings and go back to the content list. That's it.

Just to be sure, will this be the procedure to update the M34a? Ty po

Yes. But before you do anything on the FW, would you happen to have any 1080p files with fast moving scenes in your HDD right now? (for instance, Wanted, Dark Knight or Mummy) I suggest you test if they're playing smoothly on your current FW - I can describe the actual scenes to test.

bro -- i only have WANTED among the 3 you mentioned. I dont know yet other fast moving 1080 files.

Wanted 1080p version right? please watch the scene right after the rats exploded - when the main character did his Matrix like stunt and killed all enemies left and right, up to that scene when he killed the butcher. Please check if that entire portion plays flawlessly. Timeseek probably around 1hour 30 minutes.

again 1080p version only ne.

That portion got nuked when I upgraded to this latest FW. Well not the file itself, but the playback.

when we booted up meron screen na lumabas on the network na humihingi ng update either online or usb?

labas ng labas everytime ako nag turn on ng egreat... waaaaaaaaa!!!

Bro Jim, parang nangyari na rin yan sa akin before. One time I updated the firmware but didn't update the NMT apps, kaya lumabas yun bec of incompatibility. After updating the NMT apps, oks na. Did you recently change your firmware? Anong last nyong ginawa sa device nyo bago lumabas yung prob? Baki kasi may nacorrupt na software, firmware or something... Best if you update na lang as requested by your egreat and check if the problem still persists.

nag-update to the latest firmware... (downloaded on the link on the 1st post)
after the update, & boot-up,
may lumabas na 1 screen asking for update either online or usb?
we tried both but wala naman choices sa next step kaya bypass
na lang namin.
nagplay naman mga movies...

kaka-bother lang na everytomee u turn on the 31B egreat...
lumalabas yung screen na yun!

help!

Hi,

I just wanted to inquire, if you guys found a solution for this? I noticed that on large files the playback became stuttery (is this a proper word?

). Files larger than 8GB, i think. Downmix works, but what is it's use if you can't watch movies continuously.

Hmm, I have watching greater than 8Gb but i have not experience yet any problems such as stuttering. Tested with 1080p movies like ironman, darknight, planet earth.

i downloaded the dts downmix firmware update for 32B, but still not sure if it's worth updating kasi as of now my nmt is working fine.

i have 31b. Updated to the latest firmware w/ dts downmixing. I have not experience any problems yet.

I have also upgraded to new firmware and playing dts sound on tv. Playing 720p files is nice, but when playing 1080p files, it will just stop and hung in the middle of the film.

Hope egreat will solve this problem asap. Excited pa naman ako sa dts downmixing na ito.

Is there any news when egreat will release new firmware to correct the stuttering issue? Also, can someone please instruct how to erase the June firmware and go back to the previous firmware? Difficult to watch 1080p movies kasi.

kaya ako i dont dare to update the firmware, kahit 31a lang sya everything works well, kahit huge files. ayaw ko naman manuod ng movie na hindi naka kabit sa avr ko eh, so i dont bother getting the DTQ downmix.

i thought the 31B already has this application installed right out of the box.
