Definitely boxed sets are quite expensive, but sometimes if you divide the cost with the number of discs it usually approximates the usual cost of a single disc.

Having said that, I believe that the most expensive DVD that I bought was Flash Gordon (Melody Anderson/Queen Soundtrack). It can also be considered rare since it is OOP.

I would have to say "Small Soldiers"... The dvd wasn't expensive, but the other stuff that I had to buy for my son. The dvd was only about $20 or so but once my son saw the advertisement sa dvd, (action figures, posters, computer game, playstation game, clothes, etc...) it sure cost me a whole lot more than what I bargained for. Probably in the neighborhood of $500

The ALIEN Legacy - picked it up at Best Buy more than 2 years ago for $88. LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring (Platinum Edition) Gift Box Set wasn't that bad ($49) since I picked it up on the very 1st day.

Band of Brothers 6 disc R1- P2900 (converted)

LOTR (Extended Version) 4 disc R1- P1300 (converted)

Both from amazon.ca

Guess I am not qualified as a splurger when it comes to DVDS....or....maybe I just look for good bargains

The most expensive would have to be the LOTR giftset, followed by Escaflowne the Movie UE and then TF, Sex and the City Season 3.
