CDO, which previously announced they would stay with Willing Willie until their sponsorship contract with the show is over, just announced that effective tomorrow... their contract is over.

I was just watching Willing Willie awhile ago out of curiosity and what do I see:

Willie doing a call-and-response with his audience antagonizing the "mayayaman" and referring to himself along with his supporters as "tayong mahihirap" then giving 5k cash to those who kiss his ass.

Wow galing.

After ad pullout, Willie announces leave from show

MANILA, Philippines - Following the pullout of major advertisers from TV5's "Willie Willie," Willie Revillame announced on Friday night that he would go on leave for two weeks.

Revillame said he would use the time to think about whether to leave the industry following allegations of child abuse during his show.

He said Friday would be the last live show of Willie Wilie, and that only pre-taped shows would be aired starting on Saturday.

"Ngayon, nakipag usap ho ako kay Ray Espinosa, hanggang ngayon na lang po ako sa Willing Willie. Bukas, naka tape na kami," he said. "...Pagiisipan ko kung babalik pa ako sa industriyang ito."

Revillame also lashed at his fellow entertainers and performing artists who criticized the incident wherein a young boy, "Jan-jan" was allegedly made to do a lewd dance in exchange for cash.

My grandma will surely be saddened by this news.

Why she likes Willie so much is beyond me. She even bought his perfume, CDs etc. But hey, she's 77 years old & if it brings her joy who are we "apos" to stop her from patronizing Willie's programs & products.

This clown should just go off the air for good. He conveniently suspends his show for two weeks, when he probably already had plans to air taped shows because of the Holy Week break. Yet he's making it appear that it was an act of self-regulation.

I hope the MTRCB bans him permanently for being a repeat offender.

The P90-million refers to his current house, which formerly belonged to Gabby Lopez, and is not Dona Madrigal's former property in Tagaytay, which is another acquisition that he bought for an undisclosed sum in the article. Still, I always cringe every time I read articles like these where he blatantly shows off his wealth--it's obscene, really.

Taal volcano is apparently getting ready for an eruption, accd to experts. Maybe its a sign even a volcano doesnt want Willie to be around its area. How about a petiton from the Tagaytay-townsfolks to get Willie to pull-out his property ownership from there?

The appeal of Willy to the common tao is a thing that the elite and the bourgeois sectors of our society cannot give logical explanation to. I personally see that the thing involving that boy can actually just be settled as a "charge to experience and everybody must go forward" thing. The program brings hope to so many people around though how to get that hope is in itself a game of chance. But be that as it may, it helps a lot of people and it is just so sad that the other people who dont even watch the show condemns the program as immoral and must be stopped by all means. To minds with clear and unbiased intentions the approach should be to correct and not to call for an immediate end of the show. I might be wrong but for me, this shameful "crab mentality" behavior of the Pinoys is the principal reason of our ever unchangeable condition as a nation.

Pre, I agree with you, sincere ang mga recipients when they express their gratitude to willy. I'm just not sure kung sincere si Willy sa pagbibigay niya. Obviously, malaki din ang kinikita niya sa show at ang pera na pinamimigay niya ay galing din naman sa mga sponsors. While I can appreciate generosity, making fun of the recipients is something I don't. I've seen episodes where he was rude and bastos to his staff, the guests and the contestants on-air. Ang dating lang kasi sa akin ng speech niya parang sobrang nagpapawa siya at wala siyang napapala sa show eh.
