Sorry for the long overdue review.
I'm not an expert but I'll try my best to give you my perspective of this unit.
Note: I've been using the 46" mostly as the wife is on the 32" and can't give as much review.
Price offered by SnS for a 46" LED bulked w/ a 32" LED can't be beaten (both Avision).
The built in media player has played almost all movie files that I've tried. If I am not mistaken, 9 out of 10 .mkv files were played without a problem. Not sure why one or two of my .mkv files were not played. But take note that this TV won't produce dts sound of mkv files. But if you have a separate media player or HT setup then you won't have any problems.
NOTE: the 32" built in media player won't play my mkv files when I plugged in my EHD. It only read the music files I've stored there. Also, the interface of the media player has two display settings - blue and blacksh red.
Gaming. This unit has no game mode. Bulk of the hours spent on this tv was for PS3 gaming. I have not let a day pass that I didnt play since I got this unit (except when out of town). Have re-played Crysis 2, Uncharted 3, RDR, Arkham City and 2k11 in between. I am happy with it. Though there were times when I played 2k11 that delays were encountered. Encountered this 2-3 times. Not sure if it was because of long hours of gaming.
Picture quality for HD files are good but of course not as good as the top brands but difference is not that compared to their low to mid level models. I personally wanted a large screen sized tv thats why i went for this.
TV. I am subscribed to SkyCable with 7 HD channels. No issues at all with program setting without the HD box. I had to do auto programming with the 32" for my wife. With one go, it automatically set our channels. PQ is not bad too. Formula 1 cars never looked that good in tv
Connections - 3 HDMIs, 1 component, 1 USB, VGA, earphones and shoot can't remember the rest.
I've contacted their customer service just to test them out. They're based in Binondo. I called to ask if there were any latest software updates for the tv that I had. The techinician, Benny if I am not mistaken, was on not available when I called but I was asked for my contact number and was advised that a return call will be made. And after 10mins I did receive a call from Benny. He asked what model I got and what was my concern. He was very helpful and knew the product. So yes I did have a good experience.
So far I am enjoying this unit. Of course, things like "until when will this last" is at the back of my mind since this is not one of the premiere brands out there. But unless I experience it, thats the only time I'll have a say on it
