The most expensive Xtreamer in the Philippines
« Reply #151 on: Oct 13, 2009 at 04:08 PM »
Akin na yan :)

Sold!  You now own the most expensive Xtreamer in the Philippines.  I bought it through Xtreamer's website; landed cost was P12,500.00 (correction) P10,825.00 after adding up the costs of shipping, taxes, documentation and other charges of DHL.

hi sir bitstream, hope you dont mind. we really appreciate sellers who post their prices in these hardware threads. but we ask them more as a guide rather than as an offer, because we have the marketplace for selling.

we really want to keep the hardware threads for technical discussions. thanks.

will be splitting your offer and post it on the marketplace -- video sources thread. thanks.  :)

Hi, just read your PM and was about to move it over to the marketplace.  I will keep the message thread on-track.  Thanks!

Observations of an Xtreamer "hacker" -
« Reply #168 on: Oct 14, 2009 at 07:19 AM »
Excerpted from HannesTheHun's post in the HACK section of the Xtreamer forum

some observations:
- besides the wireless N USB dongle rtl8192u, the firmware also includes kernel module for rtl8187 which covers a whole range of wireless G dongles with realtek chip

- there's also support for USB networking via rtl8150-based LAN USB dongle kernel module

- NTFS access (read/write) is performed via paragon UFSD, I hope they licensed it properly

- i have no idea why the firmware has integrated IEEE1394 support

- php coders should have a look in sbin/www/ where there's the whole webserver stuff for the UPnP webpage including scripts and graphics

- the torrent client is already there but not active, it's http://sourceforge.net/projects/webtorrent/ [look in /tmp_orig/www/cgi-bin]

- the scripts for the "Internet" menu are in /usr/local/bin/scripts

Hi jerix & iiinas,

I removed the post at 12:03am today, since the offer was only valid 'til midnight.  Somebody took up the Bargain-Hunter special. Both P3,995.00 hard disks are gone.

If there is enough interest in an Xtreamer with an internal 500GB 2.5" drive, I may just run the Bargain-Hunter special again to stir up some activity.  Helps me move a few more Xtreamers (though I lose money on the HDD!) and helps out somebody to get stuff at a price they won't find elsewhere.

Internal 2.5" HDD for Xtreamer
« Reply #172 on: Oct 14, 2009 at 09:41 AM »
A 500GB 2.5" internal HDD is the largest capacity that can be physically installed in the Xtreamer.

Current HDD's with higher capacity (i.e. 640GB and 1TB) are thicker - they won't fit inside the Xtreamer's housing.

If you're waiting for 1TB 2.5" internal drives to be available in the Philippines - don't!

Update:  See the next message from Clondalkin... 640GB 2.5" HDD is now available in a form factor that's suitable for the Xtreamer

Meron nang WD 2.5" 640GB na 9.5mm thick also.   However, 500GB is the sweetest in terms of cost performance.

This is getting interesting.  I've a little request for sir bitstream though, instead of an hdmi, can you offer an optical cable for free? For us who don't have an hdmi-capable receiver yet :)

I've sent you a PM btw.

Sorry, I don't have any optical cables and would prefer not to get into it.

At this time, I can only offer the HDMI cable as a give-away.

Hi there.

If I may have missed this, sorry for asking it again.

But does the Xtreamer shows the menu of ripped DVDs when you play them like the PCH?

Thank you.

DVD Menu Structure

Hi there.

Thank you.

If you have rip a .iso image of the DVD, the answer is yes.  The menu structure of the DVD is preserved; it will show up perfectly on the Xtreamer.
