In terms of features to price (199sgd), I think this would be a good buy,
and the finishing is great as well showing the dts and dolby logos.
I just hope that there will be no issue with the performance though.

if may DTS downmix yan, ok na alternative sa egreat m34a because pwde yan lagyan ng internal hd. Here at tipidpc there's a seller P7888 lang benta.  I also wonder if the realtek chip is better than the sigma of the great and popcorn

I am actually on the way to this seller today to fully test item. Guys best to hold on muna sa purchase so I can confirm how this NMT performs compared to the popular egreats and WD TV.

I purchased one already! Nice product!!!  rulan, katawa naman sabay tayo nakahanap ng product na ito, then nasa HD-DVDs pa din tayo hehe! Tipid kasi

I suggest those planning to purchase one locally, hold on!  This is a good alternative kung nagtitipid kayo and you want a player which can handle all current files.  Don't buy now because the seller has chinese remotes currently, but the next batch english na. I am trying to make a deal with him so our community can make a group buy if we can raise enough buyers.

I will be taking photos over the weekend when I am less busy. Here are immediate observations:

Positives:

1) Superfast loadup and scan times!  The Realtek 1073 chip is fast! Bootup 5secs lang, when you plug your external HD, just like connecting to a computer it's there already, no scanning...please wait..
2) Picture quality is superb, perhaps equal of WD TV which some notice is a bit better than the egreats. Never did I see any pixelizations pagka-start ng mkv file, and some scenes that were problematic with the egreat and wd TV, like my Sin City and Slumdog played flawlessly.
3) You have both optical and coaxial ports.
4) DTS downmix to Stereo, both through HDMI straight to your LCD, or RCA analog to your non-digital speakers or CRT TV.
5) Zoom of .9x which will enable you to see the fuller image. Unlike the WD TV which shows a cropped image.
6) It has front panel power button, up/down/left/right navigation and play-rewind-forward buttons.
7) Plays dvd isos like egreats, full with menus just like a DVD. Also plays Flacs.
8) Has a preview window, instant playback of files you highlight. Good for TV shows which are usually mis-numbered and get jumbled up. With the preview, you are sure that you are about to watch the episode you are looking for.
9) Fast rewind and forward 32x

Negatives:

1) GUI is a bit generic, but you get the basic stuff like Setup screen, browse, etc.  WD TV and egreats have classier GUIs
2) Chinese remote (as of now, next batch english na) so I have the operting manual for reference.  I will try to see if this will work with the Logitech remotes.
3) This is a product from China http://www.datastorage.com.cn/, I can't even understand the website. Seller said latest September firmware has been installed already. Being a new player, we are not sure of product's support in the long run.
4) I can't seem to let it remember my settings of Zoom .9x and No subtitles. Everytime I play a file on ulit subtitles and zoom default to 1x. Will experiment further.

The best thing though, this is the cheapest NMT with the newer Realtek chip technology, with DTS Downmix and internal hard drive option. Sulit for P7888! :)

I will try flac and dvd .isos next. Everybody post their questions.  Photos tomorrow night na when I go to the office where I can test it better.

I am uploading the english version manual of the HD Pro for those who might be interested. Download it here: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/149396/HDPro_manual_ENG.pdf

This is a good read, a newly published article talking about the next wave of media players. Writer mentions how good the new Realtek chip is, compared to the older Sigma 8635. Of course the newer popcorn C200 should perform good too.

Sir ditoy nagcocollect ka na rin ng NMT?  ;D
May egreat, WDTV and now HDpro ka na e...
Nice review, I will definitely get this one over the weekend, but I will let my WDTV sit for a week or two incase unexpected things will come out.
Wait namin review mo about sa network/NAS feature nya . :)

Then english na next batch daw.

I'll ask him later about sa remote if english na.
Check ko rin sa PC show (btw Comex PC show ngayon dito sept 10 to 13) if may good deal, minsan kasi pinapackage nila with harddisk.
P7888 is a good price, ung 199sgd kasi hanggang sept18 lang daw, babalik sa 249sgd (don't know why, promotional price daw).

Sir spike, down yung link mo. pls repost if possible

guys hindi na ako nakapost ng pictures kasi if you download the manual I posted above, makikita nyo na yung interface.  My observations hold true, I tested it the whole day today panalo talaga ito for the price.  But if you have extra money to spare, mas madaming viewing options and classier GUI yung egreat and popcorn.

Sorry burnikulski, I don't download torrents with my NMT so I can't answer your question. I just transfer the files to its internal HD via usb.

Sir ditoy,

I saw the manual already.  I have some questions:
For the search button in this player, can you go to a specific time or do you have to place bookmarks?
For the jpeg slideshow, smooth po ba ang transition?
Any booting problems?

Thanks for the inputs.

Thanks Sir Ditoy regarding info on flac. maganda ba ang playback nya? sound good?

Also, hows the heat factor of this unit compared to popcorn or egreat?

comet, when you press search the timeline is divided into parts. Ex. Bolt 1080p- Time 1/96 upon start of movie. There you can punch in numbers 1-96 as if the movie was divided into chapters, instant jump to that portion with no glitches or lags unlike the egreat na may choke muna before playback becomes stable again. As I mentioned in the positives, the realtek chip is evidently more powerful than the older sigma 8635 found in WD TV and egreats.

jpeg slideshow is smooth, parang sa computer. but not fast and snappy. Swabe lang sya. Though the minimum 2secs transition I set feels like 5 secs. 4:3 CRT lang bedroom TV ko for now, Plasma LCD is in the office, so photos in landscape mode are cropped. Portrait shots vertically, fit naman sa screen.

Booting is ultrafast. 9 secs lang ata. From sleep, 4secs lang.

Again, the only drawback is having a Chinese remote! Dami ding functions like Select, Confirm (for copy and delete), Zoom, Subtitle, Audio, Menu, Info, TV System, etc. I am sure I will get used to it in a week. Sayang no support for this model by Logitech Harmony remotes. Our supplier spike888ph will have the english remotes on the next batch naman.

ramgos, yup sounds good, digital connection to my AV amp. This is the first NMT ko na may internal HD, (WD TV and egreat m34a has no internal HD) not hot but just warm a bit. Naka-aircon naman ako sa bedroom where I use this.
