well my real concern right now is the playback function and how it plays the file and esp the PQ..I have no interest yet on the network capability or torrent but its a nice function to have in the future..

how did your group test this product sir?

I can bring a WDTV kung mkakasama

I hope the gurus that signed up for the group buy would  sign up for this..much respect is given to them and with regards to their opinions

" NTFS HDD users may experience unsmooth HD video playback w/ CinemaTube; we are working on this issue and it can be solved by firmware update by end of Sep. FAT32 HDDs should be ok."

http://twitter.com/briteview"

Hi Triple H-D, Im not trying to put down this product.  In fact, I am very interested hence Im investigating as much as I can before deciding which of the new players in the market is the most suitable for my needs.  Plain and simple, I need the most powerful one in terms of playback.  Hence, your feedback would be very helpful.

As you know, NTFS HDD is a MUST for storing high def movies.  How's your test units performing so far?  What kind of files have you tested? (please dont mention the titles but technical info (video bit rate, audiostream, etc.) would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I can schedule it on saturday this week or next week, basta weekend. para makita niyo yng PQ quality. Location malapit sa Robinson's Manila. I will give the exact address once the list have been filled up.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

game on!

Ang lapit nyo sa bahay ko (Leon Guinto, near Padre Faura). If you want, I could host the EB. Ok rin sa akin Saturday. We would use a 133" diagonal screen and Sony VPL-VW100 projector. This way, kita talaga ang difference in picture quality. Kapag small screen kasi, paminsan d mo mapansin differences. I also have an egreat 31b and a WDTV so we could compare the 3.

But this would be a very informal EB. No blind test. Magulo yun.
No room acoustic treatment is like running a Ferrari on ice.

I am following this product too esp the thread on the avsforums..someone also commented on that regarding the NTFS format since hidef files are 4G above..

Hi all, thanks for all the questions and I'll get back one-by-one in just a bit. Just want to annouce that the latest firmware (version 500510099161) available on our website (the "Support" page) has made HFS+ drives compatible, and fixed the problem with NTFS drives.

Here's a detailed list:

1. Support HFS+ filesystem.
2. Support video resume playback.
3. Support AAC 6CH.
4. Remove L/R option from OSD.
5. Improve video playback performance for NTFS hard drive.
6. Subtitle size and position indication.
7. Step by step to use setup wizard.
8. Support external subtitle for MKV files.

mukhang ok na sa bagong firmware

I am wating there for someone to test it with an HD audio

@macdon - I know your frustration sir mac, as I have a friend who has a 60inch LCD tv who can't use a NMT kasi MAC user ;D We're testing it now just to make sure there are no bugs on the new firmware.

Thanks for the response Triple H-D.
While my primary concern is just playback, being mac compatible sure is a plus! ;)

Enticing really, but would greatly appreciate any consideration on a demo if connected to a PJ :)

Got this message from Zinnet

From: Service5 Zinnet [mailto:[email protected]]

Subject: Re: Brite View BV6000p Vs Cinematube 3 In 1

Dear Customer,

BV-6000P is carried by our reseller in US who will be responsible for customer service.  As of now, it's pretty much the same as CinemaTube without networking feature. However, we won't continue to develop or improve BV-6000P as we do with the CinemaTube, because it's a trial case for the reseller.

I interpret this na malabo ang FW update sa 6000 model.  That's fine if the current product is already 100% reliable in terms of playback.   If not, oh well.  It seems the 5005 model is the "safer" choice.

These have been actually tested by you?  No disrespect but are you sure of the video bitrates?  Ive seen 35-45mbps video bitrates for 40-50GB BD rips.   H.264, rarely anything above 20mpbs.

@Sir Clondalkin - our US counterpart have tested all of this. As for us, we've tested it on the usual files that have been circulating around here, and there has been no problem with regards to playback. If you have files that you want to check out. We can organize a product demo for it.

Yeah, definitely planning to test this model (and the HD-Pro) with some of the files I keep, pero sa Xmas vacation pa yon.

hi i've been looking for an nmt and asked the same query in another thread, anyway, can this directly save a downloaded torrent to an external hard drive? also, can i share the files over the network, let's say i have another nmt at my bedroom but my hard drive is connected to this in my living room, can the files be shared and detected?

thanks

This is an open invitation to Pinoydvd members.

I would like to invite everyone here to come and check the unit out for themselves. Sir Streetsmart has been kind enough to offer his place as the venue to test the CinemaTube as he has a home theatre with a huge 133" diagonal screen and a Sony VPL-VW100 projector ;D In order to properly check the PQ that the CinemaTube can produce.

As sir streetsmart suggested, the scheduled EB will be this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3pm. MAX people that we can accomodate will be around 8. Venue is Leon Guinto, near Padre Faura, Ermita, Manila. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Pero dala na rin kayo ng food para busog tayo lahat ;D

Kindly PM me or post on the list below if you want to reserve a sit

No real tests. Just watch this NMT and then compare it to other NMT's. Very informal. It's not a blind test. Very subjective. And then get the subjective views of those who watched.  :)
