From what I remember before, NBC was grooming Scrubs to take the place of Friends when it goes off the air. But since the show is not really taking off despite critical acclaim, I wonder what the (idiot) executives at NBC are thinking now.
Coupling USA version? So Scrubs isn't doing well in the ratings? Tsk sayang. What's it up against there?
It airs opposite
Survivor and after
Friends. Sadly, it loses a big chunk of
Friends viewers instead of retaining them or improving on them.
Another bad sign, the show didn't have a lot of re-runs this season and will end the current season earlier than normal series. Last episode will air next Thursday, April 17 ... right before the sweeps. The show always goes on hiatus during sweeps .... replaced by super-sized
Friends and
Will and Grace. Although
Scrubs have been renewed already and NBC executives were behind it, I wonder how far they are going to support it to become a big hit.
Fox Network stood by
24 during its first season and gave it a big push even if it was coming in last for Tuesday night opposite big time TV shows (
Fraser, NYPD Blue, Smallville, Buffy) ... but this season it's viewership is way up ... and number 1 in its time slot. Meanwhile,
Alias audience is simply eroding. I think too much complications in the story line is hurting the series.
