Recently upgraded to klipsch rp-160m bookshelf speakers from Wharfedale Diamond 220 over a month ago. Just want to share my possitive, noob experience with klipsch rp line.
Note, hindi po ako audiophile, hoping to be, feeling lang haha. Doesnt have a golden ear. Medyo marunong lang siguro tayo mag appreciate ng good sound
Noticeable improvements over diamond 220, for me (very subjective):
Wider Soundstage - hindi boxy? more air and space ang sound
Crisp, forward, lively sound - hindi 'ngongo' (no offense with the term) ang highs, but not excessive
Deeper, fuller bass - mas natural, truer bass. Tipong hindi pilit.
Plus, I can listen to music using pure direct. Which is actually better nga for music (totoo pala). Cant do it with 220s on marantz avr, need to turn on audyssey eq.
Lastly, in my opinion, klipsch can handle 'almost' all kind of music genre from rock, alt rock, opm, rnb, pop (batang 90s type of music) to jazz with pleasurable experience.
Ps: not againts the diamond 220. Sure it got advantages depending on our needs esp its price (rp-160m having x3 price, bigger, heavier, 6.5in woofers). But for me who wants all around speakers, bit forward, revealing, lively sound, works good for both music and movies and doesnt have British kind of ears
(mas prefer ata nila ang warmer sound?), klipsch 2 thumbs up.
