Note

*USB DVD-ROM doesn't support playback of CSS-protected DVD Video.
**When playing the HD video, the display position of the subtitle could be in the higher part of the TV picture. Only the subtitle format idx + sub can maintain the same position as playing in the SD video.

Ganda nito ah.  Interested in its recording function.  Internal HDD rin.  Sayang lang digital tuner siya.  Malamang would need a tuner to record TV programs with this.

We have the old Astone AP-300 without the Tuner & PVR. For me one the best NMT out there. Nice GUI, Many AV connectors at the back, Time Search, 5 Movie Resume even if you pull the the power plug (beat that WDTV Live) Hehe.

How is the LAN streaming of the unit? I have no desire to attach harddisks or whatever. Just connected to a PC (or NAS eventually).

i see no issues.. played hi bitrate 1080p's thru 100mpbs router without any problems..

i guess, aside from the digital antenna, there's also a AV in wherein you can connect a RCA..

haven't tried recording though..

i just got one today.  got it for 5.2k in greenhills.  i saw one in the astone store (near the walkway to the parking) for 5k but it was the last one they got and someone beat me to it.

what i like about the astone (i had the pch a100 before) is the warranty.  one year warranty, and they have a service center in c5.  my pch died after a year and i couldn't get it fixed anymore.

my needs are pretty simple, as long as it can play 1080p mkvs, i'm happy. and its remote resembles the egreats and the pch's, rather than the simplistic ones being used by asus o!play and the wdtv.

haven't tried playing isos.  not sure if it would work.

It won't record Sky HD in HD. It can only record HD from off the air sources, using its built-in tuner (whether that will work with local stations is another matter).
