Those interested to purchase the Mede8er, better confirm with Ehome if their stock is already the DD+ model (Realtek 1073DD C+).  Sayang din yung "potential" to have HD-Audio support sa next DD+ FW update ng Mede8er.

DD+ models are already selling in Europe.  Meron daw blue rounded sticker on the back side of the casing to distinguish the products having the new chipset.

Taken from Mede8er site.

Hi All

Sanji is currently developing code for the DD+ version hardware that will hit the shelves soon (The availibility of the + version will depend on the country and the stock level of the DD hardware) The DD+ hardware cannot take advantage of passthrough Dolby True HD Audio untill the firmware is updated and we are busy with this at the moment. Based on what we see now it could take about 4 to 5 weeks to get this release to our users as we are also planning to include other new functionality and a new SDK.

The good news for owners of the current DD hardware is that with the new firmware update you will be able to Passthrough Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio as bitstream to Core 5.1 so although maybe not ideal for some it is going to be much better than expected.

Never happened to me. though dati, akala ko nagkaganun. It sometimes happen ata when your playing music at one folder and browsing other folders. Hindi mo makikita yun cuurent folder pagbalik mo. I just stopped playing the file, went back to the top menu and back again.

Minsan din, you might have accidentally pressed the left to right button inside a folder. So nagpapalit from movies to music. Hindi mo na makikita yun movie file.

Mede8er is very stable and error-free for me.  The only way your files get deleted is if your hard-disk crashes.

This is a non-issue.  Baka na-confuse mo iyun with other NMTs.

Host:  ftp.mede8er.org
Username: [email protected]
Password:  mede8er

filename: mdede8ersanyo1080fullhr.zip (yeah wrong spelling lol)

thanks!

I have a HD2000 myself so I'm interested in this as well. I checked out  a Full-HR (1080p60) file with Mediainfo and it tells me that it is L4.2 encoding. A FULL-SHQ (1080p30) file checks out as L4.0 encoding.

I maybe wrong but I think the Mede8er can only handle up to L4.1. I know the PCH C-200 only does up to L4.1 (it says so in the manual).

Looks like the current crop of NMTs is no-go for FULL-HR files. This is sort of a bummer for me as I was considering upgrading from my current Tvix M4100SH. Might as well stick with my current nmt.

Mandy,

if you don't know the answer to your question, then most likely wala yan impact sa iyo.   ;D haha

Sa mga hard-core techies,  they long for Dolby True Audio HD passthrough.  But for ordinary users, we can do without it.

i think yung DD+ para lang sa Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD audio to pass..

so dapat HDMI receiver with DTS HD audio ang gamit mo..

Keypool,

I dont follow.

My question should have been if there would be a big impact to justify getting a new unit, instead of using future impact ;D

Just to clarify, if i had the new one, how will i get the better performance again? i need to decide if it is good to get the new unit at this stage.

Oh, bale sa receiver lalabas na specifically kung DD True hd and DTS ma? At the moment, dts surround and dolby digital surround lang naka indicate sa screen. I am using spdif passthrough now.

Finally got the chance to spend some time with my Mede8er again.  It is definitely the fastest gun in the West...blazing fast and takes about anything you throw at it no matter how big the file is.   ;D

correct..kung gusto mo talaga ng True HD and DTS HD you need to upgrde to an HD audio compatible receiver..

Been hearing many good reviews about this NMT ...... will consider it for my planned 2nd NMT purchase.

Some questions lang for the existing users:

1. Does it come with free HDMI cable?
2. Does the MED500x come with built-in MOVIE JUKEBOX (from latest firmware)?
3. If NO, has anyone tried install a 3rd party MOVIE JUKEBOX to the MED500x?

Thanks.

Happened to me a couple of times. Ang scenario is when you use the file manager in moving files. Sometimes the folder or file just disappears. A chkdsk of the internal drive fixes this, you will just see the missing folders/files after chkdsk finishes.  :) So advice is just attach a PC or laptop when moving and copying files.

By the way, how much did you guys buy the new Mede8er from E-Home? Can someone post the price. Thanks.

Yes. Bought an IDE/SATA combo drive from cdrking. No problem using either an IDE or SATA hard drive on the MEDE8ER. Medyo mahirap nga lang ipasok yung IDE plug but it will work.
