However, that's no longer considered full BD Menu. That's BD-Lite. Even DVICO acknowledges it in their firmware update page that it supports BD playback but not full BD functionality.

For a media player to claim full BD Menu it has to be able to play ISO rips and decode it exactly as if it were a real physical disc on a standalone BD player.

Just do a youtube search for bluray menu and you'll see a lot of samples of what full BD Menus do now. Some have really dynamite special features like Movie IQ, BD-Live, PIP that is only possible with the C200 and the Dune 3.0 prime/base.

Just a few rather trivial negative comments so far...subtitle font sucks and the case is even fuglier in person.

- but then my eyes are mostly focused on the HDTV anyways.

Performance wise, quite brilliant so far. No issues yet even with full BD rips - menus are working where available, subtitles of m2ts streams too - hence no need to be adventurous yet.

. Note - Im not using an HD audio compliant AVR thus getting only DTS from DTS-HD/MA rips. Dolby TrueHD stuff next.

With or without the (upcoming) rich GUI, this media streamer deserves the top rating it got from MPC. In my opinion, 2nd nga lang ang Mede8er despite its blazing fast initialization.

But take note, meron talagang mga encodes that wouldn't play (yet) on the A200 but would probably be OK on the Mede8er (or a Realtek based media streamer with reasonably matured FW). Ive noticed that some old encodes, especially those having High Profile Level 5.1 encoding, may or may not play correctly on the A200 - either blocky video, or totally nothing comes out, or just the audio would be outputted. FW issues I think, but it's probably not realistic to expect any NMT make to be able to rectify all playback bugs because most likely, their designs are based on standard parameters, one of which would be Level profile 4.1.

Iba pa rin talaga ang flexibility and reliability of a PC with enough horsepower.

i used tsmuxer on my 5th element bd rip, retained only the dolby truehd audio and wat do you know.... Dolby TrueHD is displayed in my Onkyo 606 na. Wohoo!

will test dts hd MA later, LOTR file.

Yes I know that TSMuxer trick.

It's a good workaround.

I don't wanna remux everything I have though so I am waiting for a firmware fix. Last word is Sigma already released the updated SDK to Syabas so single file m2ts/mkv + HD Audio tracks will finally be supported.

after all the most important files are the main movie file with preferred audio codec and subtitle (playing flawlessly)

confirmed, TSMuxer workaround works for DTS HD Master Audio too. tested on my LOTR and Transformers ROTF Full BD Rip files.

in the meantime na wala pa ung firmware fix, il remux muna to enjoy the HD Audio, 6 files lang naman ung full bdrip ko.hehe. am still retaining the Orig file tho.

I pre-ordered it for around 3.6k pesos and it'll be shipped by May.

It will NOT come as standard equipment

Ok here's a tip...

If you have a 200 series and have installed a HD with NMT apps, you can change the look of the GUI as well as change the screensaver easily.

- mount the drive to your PC/Mac in Samba as a share
- navigate to the Photo directory
- create a subdirectory called _theme

Basically images in that directory override the ones in the firmware upon reboot.

currently in the market for my second nmt and have considered a-200 as my best option however i saw popbox and quite confused. It say's it's the new popcorn hour. Is this their future or just a different nmt box built for internet streaming.

The popbox is for the U.S. market. You can probably buy it overseas and ship it here pero be prepared if;

1. You can't sign up to Netflix because your I.P. is blocked from accessing their service
2. You need proof of U.S. citizenship to sign up (SS#)
3. You also need a billable address in the U.S.
