check the ac3 filter settings
my settings

btw it is normal for some parts of a dts or dd film not to produce sounds in the rear.

Pro Logic II, depends on your Amplifier, some Pro Logic II sounds a lot better than the compressed DD 5.1  ;) ;D

To be objective about it, It's because the amplifier will be the one to convert your audio to DPLII, unlike some DD5.1 encodes, which were poorly done and since it's a compressed digital file, the amplifier will only interpret whatever data file has been encoded with a fixed set.

As an analogy, one is upconverting, the other is merely exhibiting. ;)

Hi. Im using my PC as HTPC....so it is now placed below the 32" LCDTV which is for movie viewing lang sa sala. However I am still using it with my work and games pero ginagamit ko yung 22" LCD monitor for it. Kaya lang malayo ang working table ko (with the 22" LCD monitor) sa HTPC, mga 5 meters sa bandang kaliwa.

Question is.....saan ako makakabili ng 5 meters na DVI cable?

Thanks...

^ Try to look at tpc, worst case if there is no 5meters dvi cable available , I was able to see a 5 meter dvi-hdmi cable there.

For the USB extender, is 5 meters enough? CDRking has them
here

Good luck  ;)

Thank you sir!

@gun,

Naka-isip ako ng ibang solution. Mas nilapit ko na sa monitor ko ang CPU.....pero mas malayo na sya sa LCDTV ko na nasa sala.

So what I did is use a 5-meter HDMI cable (bought from Electronics Botique at Park Square) to connect the PC to the LCDTV.

Then I used a couple of 10-meter Audio Extension cable (from Ace Hardware Park Square) to connect my speakers na naka-setup malapit sa LCDTV sa sala.

Ang weird lang pag ginagamit ko ang PC to play games, ang sound nya nasa sala at malayo sa akin hehe

I just noticed that playback of video files specially mkvs in HTPC is still better than playback in my WDTV.  I have an HP Goblet of Fire 1080p mkv when played in my WDTV, had a lot of audio dropouts but when I played it in my HTPC...flawless.  ;D  I just dunno the playability of other NMTs though as compared to an HTPC.

Do you likewise observe certain issues with the WDTV when playing DXVA compliant 1080p files?   Thanks.

I'm very curious about direct comparisons between an NMT and PC as well.   Sino nga bang member ang user ng NMT and 1080p-capable PC?

The Acer X3200 seems to be the one with the minimal specs that can meet 1080p DXVA compliant files, together with coreavc codecs.

....and as what I have posted in different threads, don't expect much from the WDTV, it was designed mainly for axxo files, and if you're into MKV, nothing beats the HTPC.

will that be applicable for Egreat, too?

thats why until now I cant decide which NMT to buy :( I think WDTV is now out of the picture for me....its down to Egreat or PCH

sir i believe the Denon 1909 has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output.
since it has HDMI, i don't need to get a separate soundcard like the Creative X-Fi?

Ang point is ma-i-labas mo ng maayos yung buong soundstream from your PC to the receiver whether it be via HDMI or optical or "brute force" (as in analog).  So if the built-in sound of your mobo is capable of that, you dont need to buy a discrete sound card.  Magiging "redundant" lang yung Creative X-Fi between the PC and the receiver in that particular configuration.

Pero kung gusto mo ng magandang sound by simply connecting to a regular 2.1 or 5.1 PC speakers, then yun ang advantage ng cards such as that of Creative or Onkyo kase may sarili silang decoder.

Available na ang CoreAVC 1.9.0.  You guys may want to give it a try - especially those having some playback problems.

Ako rin walang problem sa Ver. 1.8.5 so perhaps I wont detect any difference if I try Ver. 1.9.0.  But for those still having problems even with Ver. 1.8.5, this may be the solution.
