I will.  Pero problema ko is pag-setup uli nang codecs ko.  I tried playing a DTS track MKV kanina, pero PCM ang lumalabas sa AVR ko.  I'm using KMPlayer, and I have CoreAVC Pro v2.0.  For digital audio, I have AC3Filter.

Any ideas how DD/DTS/TrueHD/DTS-HD can be passed out of the HTPC to the AVR?  Baka kasi I'm using the wrong codecs eh.  I used to be ok with these software tweaks, pero now I'm finding that I don't have much patience anymore (kasi kailangan pa magresearch).  Tumatanda na talaga ako.   :P

Are you using Windows 7? I was able to enable HDMI audio pass-thru for DTS/AC3 and DTS-MA/Dolby True HD with ATI 5770 and Media Player Classic-HC with ffdshow audio decoder. Haven't tried KMplayer before.

Question lang po.  How is the 5.1 sound quality of DD/DTS as compared to LPCM?

can't really compare them kase po magkaibang media player gagamitin to output lpcm or dd/dts.. like what i've said, xbmc lang may output sakn na dd/dts.. i guess parehas lang sq (lpcm or dd/dts stream) pag ang source ay dd or dts encoded ang audio.

A good tutorial on how to bitsstream HD Audio using MPC-HC and FFDSHOW

http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2010/02/02/guide-setting-up-bitstreaming-with-your-windows-7-htpc-part-i/

Apologies if this has been posted previously...  Ito rin ba ginamit mo for setting up sir firestorm?

I suggest that you try TMT3 instead, or any software player na meron HD Audio Logo. I'm positive there are HD-Audio configuration options within TMT3 settings.

I just installed TMT3, and it already can't play my The Mechanic avi file, nor another MP4 file.  Fast play siya, and chipmunks audio.  Tapos PCM pa rin ang output.  Ni-uninstall ko na lang uli.

I played The Mechanic on Windows Media Center 7, and it is able to output the DTS track correctly.  Tapos ang ganda pa nung video!  When I tried the same on KMP, mas pangit ang video, tapos PCM audio.  Happy na sana ako sa Media Center, pero it looks like medyo heavyweight yung app.  My movie hangs periodically.

I'm now forced with the MPC-HC and FFDSHOW Beta combo.  Sana mag-work na 'to.

lpcm din po lumalabas sa avr ko when using vlc or mpc player.. pero pag xbmc gamit ko, dts or dd lumalabas sa avr. i know that my card could only passthrough lpcm, pero bakit dts or dd lumalabas pag xbmc gamit ko? baka mero lang din tweak dapat sa vlc or mpc para lumabas din dd or dts... patulong po mga masters..
btw, my vcard is 4650 and sony ht-ss370 avr

Spent most my weekend tweaking my HTPC.  I noticed the same hangs on The Mechanic on all my players, so might be a bad file, or all my players are using the same codec (which might not be the best one).

Anyway, I went back to KMP, and finally got my DD/DTS pass through to work.

In case anyone is interested, below are some links to the screenshots of my KMP setup...

KMPlayer Internal Video Decoder Screen
KMPlayer External Video Decoder Screen
KMPlayer Internal Audio Decoder Screen (General Tab)
KMPlayer Internal Audio Decoder Screen (Output Tab)
KMPlayer External Audio Decoder Screen
ffdshow Audio Decoder Output Screen

KMPlayer version is 3.0.0.1439
Xvid version is Xvid-1.3.0-22022011
ffdshow version is ffdshow tryouts rev3721 Jan 7 2011
CoreAVC version is CoreAVC Professional Edition v2.0.0 build 7783

KMPlayer is really the most tweakable player out there.  I have put on hold the installation of MPC-HC.  I'm still trying to get hold of a file with TrueHD or DTS-MA.  Next weekend uli...

Mahirap na i-tweak yan sir.  Because our HD movie files are gigantic, wala na tayong masyadong magagawa para pabilisin ang USB transfer.

Since madalas mo na gagawin yan, may I suggest you invest in a HDD dock with eSata connector (assuming may eSata port ang HTPC mo).  Kung wala naman, you can get those internal-to-external SATA brackets (assuming you have a spare SATA port on your mobo), like these ones from Monoprice...

You may opt to get an io gear enclosure. Pwede syang esata or usb2.0. Pero to answer your question, wala pong paraan para iboost ang pagtransfer ng file from one hdd through another using usb. However, you may also cancel/turn off any other running programs na kumakain ng memory mo po para maoptimize mo yung transfer mo. Sa akin may difference yan. Pag nagtratransfer ako ng HD files from my netbook to my external drive. Pero para maging mas mabilis pa sya wala na talaga. :-)

I'm sure meron shops na nag-benta nito, but I don't know where.  There are some shops in Megamall Cyberzone which sell hard-to-find accessories and peripherals, you can try your luck there.  You can also check TipidPC marketplace.

Sa Monoprice, it's listed below US$4.  You can join the Monoprice group buy thread.  I think it shouldn't cost more than P500, landed price.  But I may be wrong.

Try this one

Speed up file copying with TeraCopy

Sige sir I'll try this one.. so far 1 tweak works for me po...Another thing for speed, I have my USB drive optimized for performance.
Go to My Computer->Properties->Hardware->DeviceManager->Disk Drives->(external one here)->Properties->Policies->Optimize for performance, but do not forget to unplug the device the proper way (that is Unplug or eject hardware...) Down side of this one is pag hindi mo ma-eject yung drive.. need mo pa shutdoen yung PC or use an application to force eject the USB drive...

Tried Teracopy and the transfer speed is noticeable. 4GB transfer from external to internal at 2:41sec @25MB/sec using usb2 dati ata mga approximately 3-4mins din. internal to external (4gb) 2:05sec @33mb/sec

Tested with AMD (Quadcore) B55 X4 @3.4GH
4gb Ram

Maya try ko sa netbook naman since eto gamit ko pang dload hehe!

Thanks sa free software na ito bro! :-)

There should be an external decoder search button, then select Add External Codec button.  Then point it to the folder where codec was installed.  Look for the .ax or .dll file, and select.

sir jnazareta...
iba po cable ng sata and esata...
but there are sata to esata cables... you can buy...

a sata to esata cable would cost around 100php po...

i would suggest an esata pci out po sa likod

these cost 300 pesos...

but kailangan lang po... naka kabit na lahat... pagboot para ito gumana.. hindi po kaya hot swap...

i got mine sa... ground floor ng gilmore it center... sa bandang likod.. pangalan yata ng store is... usb expert..

There's an easy way, right click my computer, click manage, click device manager, highly disc drives then click scan for hardware changes, the HDD connected to esata will now be recognized.

If your OS is Vista or W7 you don't need to do the above.
