I bought a Sata+Power combined cable at Digitag today for P90.  Similar to the one below, but nicer (available in neon blue or neon orange).

They also have the SATA extension cable, in case you need longer lengths, and also priced at P90.

Digitag is the official distributor of the Kaiboer Media Players.  They're almost at the corner of Broadway Ave. and Aurora Blvd, right across of the Petron gas Station.  Their website is http://www.ebuyph.com/index.asp.

Check your AVR if your speakers are set to large. Just try to set it to small and let the low frequencies be handled all by your sub.  You can also set the frequency cut off your sub to 100HZ or higher.

Your speakers might not be able to handle those low frequencies thus the clipping/popping sound or you just might be playing your movies too loud.

Doc before naman po walang popping sound, nakaset po front speakers to small then nakaset po lahat ng frequencies cut off to 80hz including the sub's lfe.  I'm using po aaudio tritower as fronts, JBL N-Center II &
Try ko pong magreinstall ng ffdshow, nagdownload kasi ako ng ffdshow tryouts(beta) baka yun po ang culprit.

If you have checked your speaker wires, also check interconnects. Baka may nagshoshort.
Have you assessed if the popping sound is coming from one speaker or both speakers? Pag isolated lang, it must be the speaker driver. Baka bumigay yung driver edge. If it's Aaudio, you can request Anthony to have it assessed.

Hi all, I'm planning to move my desktop pc to my room & convert it to a htpc, but my avr does not have a hdmi input yet, just coaxial & optical and my soundcard does not have a optical/coaxial out either is there soundcard available that has digital out, so I could use dolby or dts to my avr? Thanks!  :)

Ok na po Doc, I installed previous version ng ffdshow, di ko rin alam kung anong nangyari sa dating settings ng ffdshow e kung bakit nagkapopping sounds ???

Bro, glad everything is ok with your system.  Sometimes the newer version of a software is buggy.  As the saying goes "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"  ;)

Hi:

Blue_123 you can get a soundcard with optical output / coaxial such as the Asus Xonar and Creative soundcards. Xonar sounds better though. The Asus Xonar is a reference card used by stereophile (but costs USD 180). It performs better than USB cards even the high end ones when used to connect to external DACs.

You can also get a USB Soundcard / DAC with digital output. Check out the marketplace and computer shops for your options.

Cheers

I think the best affordable may be the ones based on the amd e-350. But I am / people are still waiting for actual reviews when people actually buy this and builds one...

Please post those who have this. The board (including CPU) costs less than Php 6,000 base on posts at tipid pc (previous posts with links). This is a low power board that can do HTPC with great video quality with HDMI audio pass through...

>AM3
>support lossless audio
>support s/pdif
>support usb3
>cheapest but reliable.yung magagamit ko ng matagal bago mag upgrade.
this is my 1st HTPC kaya ingat na ingat sa kapipili ng mobo.

Nakabili ako sa isang TipidPC seller, 2nd hand.  It sells for about P1,000 now.

Problema ko is the slimline SATA cable for this drive.  Sata connector is the same, but the sata power connector is slim type, 6-pin (not standard 15-pin).  You will need to think about this too.
