There should be an improvement naman with the current breed of graphics adapters (if you look for the differences). Pero subukan mo muna yung meron ka to see if an HTPC suits you. What you have should still be capable of decent video (at least better than many dedicated players when configured right).

For HTPCs, which is better, ATI or nVidia? Most of the members here have Radeon cards, why's that?

AMD/ATi is at an advantage for the most part when it comes to video quality. Intel's HD 4000 IGP is also a very good video solution (as long as you go stay away from MadVR and other such renderers).

Siguro nga. Pero nung tinry ko yung adapter sa kabilang pc ko using 9800gt tapos connected to the mobo's hdmi_spdif headers, wala naman hdmi-hdcp handshake issues.

i tried doing that sir pero ganun pa rin. nandun pa rin yung sound. anyways set the volume to zero nalang kasi if i mute the tv meron din yung image na mute na ayaw matanggal. for now wala talaga akong makitang fix.

I'd like to confirm if the audio input was set to analog (or the HDMI port was set to DVI). What's happening here is that the TV could not lock to a digital audio stream that it's expecting from what it thinks is an HDMI connection.

If there is no setting in your TV, plug a jack into the PC/DVI Audio In. Some TVs need to detect something in the DVI Audio in jack to stop looking for an audio stream via HDMI. Take note that you have to use the HDMI port that's earmarked for DVI use to make this work.

hi guys,i have low budget desktop which consists of asrock g31m-vs2,manli ge force g210,1gb ddr2.question ko lang po can it display 1080 without any problem?kung sakali po ano yung part na dapat i upgrade or idagdag para mas gumanda yung performance?and lastly i downloaded splashpro ex kaya lang mag eexpire na sya.yung serial number na kasama nung dinownload ko yung player ayaw tangapin kasi blacklisted na daw patulong naman kasi mas ok sya para sa kin compared sa powerdvd na ginamit ko before.thanks

If your HDD is old, a new model will dramatically improve performance. Dun mo install yung OS and applications sa bago.

You can add another gig of RAM. It'd likely help, especially if you're running a newer OS. Better yet, add a 2GB stick for a total of 3GB.

As for your last question, your motherboard should not have problems supporting large-capacity HDDs. It helps to run a fairly recent BIOS version if you plan on going beyond 2TB, however.
