No monitor since dedicated HTPC siya. Midlevel build po. i5 K, lots of ram and dedicated video.

Hi mga Gurus, need help! I just bought Sapphire ATI HD6450. Ang problema naka set-up lang ng 2 channels(2 AMD) at hindi na-detect ng 608 kung DD or DTS etc . Kung ano yung default kong audio yun lang, unlike sa PS3 ko na detect ng 608 kung 5.1 or DTS-HD etc. Dati nung gamit ko pa on board vc gumagana yung iba't ibang audio. Hindi ko mahanap kung san i-adjust yung audio wala sa catalyst. My set-up is HTPC-onkyo-Monitor 2, using HDMI. Tnx!

Check the player baka naman hindi HDMI ang gamit na audio.

Ako naka external ang bluray writer saka sa totoo lang napapangitan ako dun sa isang remote parang may lawit pa na ikakabit.

Try to disable first yung onboard Audio and video mo  in your BIOS and select audio and video sa VC.  Sa audio settings ng OS detected nalang ang VC.  Then set up mo yung video card audio settings sa Control Panel.  What media player are you using?

go to sound setting set hdmi default.may tweak pa yan kung mpchc ang gamit mo.you need external decoder like ffdsho.kung splashP derecho na yan.powerdvd12 hd audio support.kung pdvd11 no way ka.same as vlc if im not mistaken

Eto din yung problema ko dati.. Try to turn your Receiver (Onkyo) first then your PC.

Right click speaker icon in your taskbar, choose playback devices, select AMD HDMI Output, or try other Audio out settings HTH

Kahit di na disable basta sa system tray choose HDMI and sa player mo choose HDMI din. It depends sa player yan try splash pro.

@joko bat yung splash pro ko di naman nag error kahit naka online yung HTPC ko.

bought yesterday a 3m HDMI cable for my OLD RIG and connected to my PJ thru ONKYO receiver using HDMI but my problem is NO AUDIO is coming out. only video.

used different player, splash PRO, VLC to no avail. sa SPLASH PRO, i cant do HDMI bitstream cz naka disbale un option. only SPDiF and mga 5.1,7. etc ( but again, no audio ).

to isolate the problem, test the HDMI on xtreamer, everything is fine.
when i  reconnect the HDMI on my pc, a message prompt appear that ( no audio daw kc im using DVI-HDMI ) eh, hdmi - hdmi man gamit ko.

paano gawin ko na maaus eto ?

SOLVED! instead of using the on-board graphics card, ginamit ko n lang ang ati 4850 kO. auN lumabas ang audio.

you can try at least a 5xxx series video card for bitstreaming of HD audio (dts - hd / true hd), blah blah blah .

I see a lot of post of new hardware for HTPC's ...  I had some free time to day and put the effort in improving my video quality using software ..

Pls. look for guides in using MPC-hc + MadVR +LAV . The time I spent today really improved the video output to my projector ..

Just a couple of questions on using a gaming PC with a DVI output gfx card as primary source in an HT set-up :

1) Can I use an HDMI to DVI cable to route the video through the receiver, that way I can see its set-up menus on the LED TV? Or I just have to make do with the receiver's screen since I have to hook up the PC directly to the TV?

2) If I use an optical cable to hook up the motherboard's sound card to the receiver, is there any possibility that the video and audio will be out of sync, like back before there was HDMI? I can't seem to see the video-audio sync function on receivers' features list anymore and I'm thinking if this might possibly be because HDMI 1.3 and up eliminated that problem (which would still be a problem if I'm not using HDMI 1.3).

EDIT : Found A/V sync listed on Onkyo brochure ; looking through PDFs now maybe it's there for other brands too (or I'm just getting dizzy reading the features list on web pages)

You can do this as long as your PC supports standard video resolutions.

There is a chance. Check for a lipsync/audio delay setting. If your receiver does not have it, then you can use a player with this feature.
