@doc mel

Eto ba gamit mo sa MCE Remote Control mo?

We need to change permissions on the default launcher so we can copy over it:
1. Go to "C:\Windows\ehome"
2. In the "ehome" directory, right click "ehshell.exe" and choose "Properties"
3. Click on the "Security" tab and click on the "Advanced" button at the bottom.
4. Click on the "Owner" tab and click the "Edit" button.
5. Select "Administrators" and hit "OK."
6. Click "OK" in the "Advanced Security Settings for ehshell.exe" dialog.
7. In the "ehshell.exe Properties" dialog, click on "Administrators" under "Group or user names" and click the "Edit" button.
8. Select "Administrators" (or add that group if it isn't already there) and check the "Full Control" box in the Allow column.
9. "OK" out of all the properties and permissions dialogs.
10. While in "C:\Windows\ehome", copy ehshell.exe and paste it somewhere safe as a backup, in case you ever need to restore.

Now, we can copy the new launcher.
11. From this folder (the one this readme file is in), copy ehshell.exe
12. Paste the modified "ehshell.exe" in the "C:\Windows\ehome" directory.

Now when you press the start button on your Windows media remote, it will launch XBMC instead.

OPTIONAL: Command Line Arguments
13. If you want to add command line arguments, place a file named "XBMCLaunchArgs.txt" in the "C:\Windows\ehome" directory.
14. The contents of the text file should be the command line arguments you would like to run with.

XMBC Launcher file http://www.2shared.com/file/N_vnG17x/ehshell.html

External player with XMBC with download links that you can save and use.

Bookmarked! Whenever I push the START button on my remote, Windows Media Center is the one that launches not XBMC.  I tried the MCE Remote Add-on in XBMC and tried to configure the remote buttons but it didn't change any functions.  :-[

Guys thanks for the quick reply appreciate the help.  From wht I have read so far in other sites, if I want to go for a small form factor miniITX board, those new boards only cater to i3 and up CPUs, is that correct? Would it be cheaper to go this pathway eliminating the need for a video card as these boards are HD ready....may available bang miniITX board sa mga PC shops here?

meron mini itx sa shops natin sir.. try pchub and pcoptions sa gilmore. imho both sila competitive sa price...
kayalang premium po prices ng itx..

i think since gagawin mong htpc.. importante din po sayo hdmi so.. do remember to check po if yung kukunin niyo may hdmi sa motherboard since wala kayong balak mag videocard..(muntik kasi ako bumili ng entry level mobo na walang hdmi... buti bigla pumasok sa isip ko na i will not be having a videocard)

if hindi po kayo mag gagames... it is more than enough.. kahit G620/G630.. good enough for me...

yung suggest ni sir xrampage.. ok din... for htpc.. alot of people use his suggested setup.. kasi malakas ang graphics niya.. so malaki headroom mo.. but hindi naman maganda na sabihin na "hindi kaya 1080p ng ibang setup.. ito lang ang kaya" hehe
cons lang mas mababa siya sa processing and maybe mas matakaw ng kunti sa kuryente.. pag player mo lang naman.. baliwala yun.. pero pag torrent machine mo siya.. i would suggest intel..

for me.. i prefer intel route since mas bagay siya sa purpose ko..

Yup.  It worked!  Isa kang henyo!  ;) My other problem is to map out the other buttons in the  MCE remote so I can make full use of the keyboard functions. Wishful thinking lang but I can achieve all of the functions naman.  I just have to pass through the menu by pressing enter.   :)

6670 lang ang max crossfire ng amd a6 to a10

pero ung 7750 mas mataas rate sa passmark ganda din power consumption(low consumption)
so lets say a10 + 6670 < radeon 7750

Taas ng power consumption ng HD 7750 mo 22W in bluray watching and pero baba ng idle mode 5W ..

Source: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/HD_7750/24.html

Nabili mo ba yung WATT Meter? Mukhang gagawin ko na din pang DL ang HTPC ko baba ng power consumption sa net.

Source: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/cpu/47257-amd-a10-5700/?page=8

Never pa ako gumamit niyan ang ginamit ko lang is yung orico hot swap which is bang for the buck be careful lang sa pag tanggal kabit. Pero pag ang sata board mo is AHCI compatible this will work fine as when you off mawawala yung HDD sa my computer then pag ON mo babalik ulet. AHCI feature is for HOT SWAP kaya yang ON and OFF na device puwedeng puwede.  ;D ;D

seems nice. how much and anong pc accessories eto?

Around 2k sa TPC your mobo should support AHCI.  ;) ;)

Alam ko yan pag naka on na yung HTPC pag pinatay and open mo di na marerecognize. Have you tested already?  ^-^  ^-^ ^-^

yan po sir yung past conversation natin.. namention mo kasi maglalagay ka madaming hard disk.. then i posted for you the orico switch para masave buhay ng hds mo..
then sabi mo palpak yun... pag reboot di na niya na marecognize yung hard disk.. sana po dont suggest gadgets that we already know don't work well...
