Thanks sir!

You're welcome, sir. HTPC graphics use isn't that heavy unless you plan on running 4K or a lot of postprocessing. Gaming at Full HD res in high detail is very doable with an HD 7970 Ghz Ed. or a GTX 770, if you want to do that too.

Likely unnecessary option: The Quadro K6000 is the fastest single GPU right now, with an expected price of about $7K. You can buddy it up with a Tesla K20X (about $4K) in Maximus configuration, if you need even more power. These things drive up workstation prices big time (not that other matching components are cheap).

Doable, but it'd likely be tight (in terms of component clearances). Look for low profile RAM and check for clearance (and go for 8 gigs of RAM, if budget allows). You can always slap-in a dedicated GPU if you find the need. Is this purely for movie playback?

Another thought: If you can go all the way up to A10-6800K and 8 gigs of DDR3-2133 (or even 2400 if you can find them at a good price, matched with a capable mobo), that'd give you the peace of mind of not thinking of what if you went for a higher model on the same platform. It's not a whole lot faster mind you (14 to 23 percent faster on the CPU end and upto 67 percent faster on the graphics end), but it's a more palatable balance between CPU and graphics muscle in my opinion.

yes sir my build is purely for watching movies only

Hi Guys! May setting ba sa amd to optimize it? (not overclock) kasi My intel HD 3000 (Core I3 3220 - Laptop) performs better currently than my 8670d (A10-6800 - HTPC).. Not sure baka settings lang.. Because currently my Intel HD 3000 can post process better than my 8670d using MADVR...And also my GPU Load using 8670d is 99% pero sa Intel HD 3000 is only around 78% playing the same content..

You can disable driver post-processing options if you're using MadVR anyway. You can also try running a software decoder with MadVR if you're running into a GPU bottleneck.

You might've been using Quicksync for your Intel notebook, which explains the difference.

Hi Sir Stagea... Thank you.. Sorry but medyo Newbie ako sa HTPC e.. I just bought my set-up last sunday.. How do I disable the driver post-processing? And about the software decoder? Is it the one like Open SVC Decoder? What does it do?

If I buy a dedicated video card, will it solve the problem?

Let's say I buy a 7870 Graphics Card will it solve my issue or create more problems? And also can I post process with that set-up (A10-6800 plus AMD 7870) thanks!

That is an overkill GPU for an HTPC IMO. Not unless you're into gaming. And if you add that card you need a better PSU of at least 600W true rated. Not to mention the increase in power consumption. If you need to add a discreet GPU look for something that is low profile meaning no need for an external power.

here's a guide.

http://www.squidoo.com/best-htpc-graphics-card

but before you do that try tweaking the settings first in the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) google is your friend. There's a ton of info on the net that can save you time and money. Youre APU is more than capable of handling your needs.

Hi Sir..thanks for your reply! That's what I did for the last 3days of Vacation.. hahaha.. Medyo time consuming lang! I'm now using powerdvd but the GPU load is till at 99% even with the TrueTheatre Feature Turned Off..  Kaya I thought of buying a dedicated GPU para effortless sana.. Oh well back to research mode :)

Ayun sir..Baka kulang RAM ko? 4gb lang kasi.. Nagbudget kasi ako ng 2k.. last year 8gb na yun.. 4gb lang nabili ko..might be the RAM?

Another question... If magpostprocess ako using MADVR..May nakita kasi ako sa net na settings.. Jinc 3taps AR.. Would a GTX 660/7870 be an overkill?

Pero try ko muna upgrade ram ko.. Ok lang ba iforce ko to 2gb shared memory yung IGP ko? Or Overclock din ibig sabihin nun? hehe.. sorry sir Newbie..

definitely overkill. kahit entry-level video cards like 7750 or GT640, pwede na for htpc.

AMD APUs benefit from fast memory. try to get 8GB or more of DDR3-1866 or faster memory. ;)

APU loves when you increase the memory clock frequency so check your Ram baka 1333 lang yan. The sweet spot for an APU is 1866mhz.

You do not need to spend more than 4k on a dedicated video card for HTPC. those you mentioned are on the upper mid tier for gaming. I mean it will handle your anything but sayang lang pera since you get the same results with a GTX 630 (HTPC purposes)

Actually kaya naman yan e. If kelangan mo talaga here are my thoughts:

* sell your existing ram na di masyado lugi and get an 8G 1866
* keep  your ram and buy a discreet low profile video card
* continue finding tweaks in the software end.

feeling ko mas maka mura ka pa if you buy a card pero dagdag kuryente but not that much. you wont notice the difference IMO.

Ok sir thank you! I posted my RAM na sa TPC.. hopefully mabenta agad.. hehehe.. Planning to get 8gb 2133.. Mas ok ba pag 8gb X 1 or 4gb X 2? And sa brand..ok ba Veloce Geil Evo Veloce? http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=24844199 compared sa GSKILL Ripjaws?

If buy naman ako card what would you recommend a card that can play remux vids and let's say yung pinaka mabigat iplay to avoid upgrading narin in the future? ok na po ba yung 7750 or GT 640? Thanks sir!
