Anybody still holding on to his cassette tape deck? Post your unit/s and comments here.
I’m not into cassette tapes as medium for music. What I remember about it are those cheap radio cassette players you bring along during outings and holidays but never did I had a separate player when it was still the ”thing”.. so nanghihiram o nakikigamit lang ako noon.
I recently got hold of an audio setup which included a tape deck. What made me notice it first was it’s weight which is almost as heavy as the amp of the system itself. The inside looks like that of an amp rather than those of portable players.
Along with the setup came various cassette tapes. I was not expecting too much because of what I remember about the sound coming from a portable player. But lo and behold, it sounded very good. This only proves that a good player plus a good source really makes a difference.
May isa pa akong nahalata, pati pala sa tapes, masmaganda ang imported kaysa local tapes. Anthony Castelo’s vocals is very good but the background music sucks. Para kang nakikinig ng lumang sine na ngongo, if you can imagine.. maybe not all. But the imported Beatles, Bread, Kenny Rogers, sus kaganda rin pala using this tape deck..
So now, I’m also a tape deck user.. btw, the unit I’m talking about is a
Luxman K-15 . I’m not sure but according to a passage from TVK, it’s a topper (TOTL?) of the K-10, K-12 series.
Here is a Monthly Pinup poster from TVK with the Luxman K-15 as props, enjoy
