« on: Apr 13, 2010 at 10:29 AM »
need advice. a thinking of replacing the opamp of my dac from ad-845 to opa627. Is this a good idea? anybody here tried this? One more thing, does replacing the polyperene caps of my dac to mundorf supreme result to better sound?

Btw am using a aged stax-talent dac.

thanks

I suggest you get hold of the schematics first.

For the coupling, it is not really about Mundorf Supreme, it is really the combination of capacitors you use. Please check this out

It also tells you about the load resistor used after the coupling cap. Chances are replacing it with a much more suitable one will result in better sound than an op-amp change.
