why don't you try Popcorn Hour A200? since it has the latest and fastest chipset. i'm sure you won't have any problem playing 1080p files on it  ;)

sorry pero walang 6k e...yup its more expensive compared to other players but its the added features yung advantage niya against other players especially sa firmware support and future add-ons  :) plus the Rich UI and Universal Media Collector (UMC) which will be coming soon...

To be frank it's only the Egreat that's having 1080p stutter issues. Pretty much everything else out there that was released in 2009 work great.

So when I get content that stutter using newer players, pretty much I blame the file not the device playing it.

Try Xtreamer, you may check the MARKETPLACE of this forum.
I saw 5.6k with free HDMI and WIFI usb.

out of so many movies i've played with xtreamer (mostly 1080p, some 720p) 4gB-25GB in size, i only encountered about 3 movies which stutter.  But that's only a portion of the movie, i haven't encountered any movie that stutters to the point of being unwatchable.  mind you, we've played close to a hundred movies already.

i agree with scifi-fan, when a movie stutters, chances are the file is at fault not the player.  at just a little over 5K xtreamer is the best nmt for the money if all you need is play HD videos.    now, if you start looking for  dts-hd, torrent downloader, among other features, that when you should look at the more advanced NMTs like pch a200, c200 and others.

Baka me problema lang sa encoding nung file kaya nagkaroon ng stutter.  Did you try another file as a demo?

I also have an Xtreamer and I never had issues playing 1080p's or BDMV/mt2s mkv movies. My WDTV live also didn't have any issues. So I guess you can narrow your choices to these 2 and the Popcorn Hour.

@jetro
played the BBC Life with my laptop and no problems. no stuttering issues even for 1 scene Im using CoreAVe, halli media splitter and KM player for playing MKV files

with the xtreamer, it suffer a few seconds during butterflies scene. NOt the whole movie nag stutter pero better wala diba ;). The Xtreamer has less stutter vs the Mediater (not sure with the name) when i played the same file BBC life.

Does the xtreamer and other NMTs have an option to increase their performance?

Like an upgrade? I don't think there is such option.

However, adding the Sidewinder cooling mod kit improves the unit's operating temperature.

the sidewinder is a very big heatsink that replaces the whole plastic side covers of the xtreamer, by using this together with the xtreamer's internal fan it helps dissipates heat a way lot better, it actually recommends that by applying this mod, you can safely shut down the unit's fan and still get the unit to be cool.

Tried on Both...

NP both wired, wireless, internal HD, USB...

Not a problem.

Among your 2 choices, the A-200 will take you farther so mas future-proof.

No problem playing BBC LIFE 1080p ( 6GB per episode version) on an A200   8)

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen IMAX edition MKV and actual bluray rip (42GB BDMV structure) played flawlessly as well

Eto kandidato ko as of today

PCH A200.  Kase it can easily perform beyond being an MKV player in terms of media playability alone.

But Mede8er is quite excellent too.
