I agree to a point. I guess KG's antics have something to do with that as well. You should see his karate chops at Dwight Howard. I mean, come on, KG! You like to give as much physically but when someone touches you it's like "whoa! get your hands off me!"

Ray Allen shot lights out for the Cs and helped them tie the series up. I hope LA sweeps all games in Boston.  ;D

Yey Boston wins! They really deserve this one: relentless attacks by Glen Baby Davis, Allen's record-setting 8 3-pt shots, Rondo's wonderful triple double, Nate Robinson's good performance when Rondo rested and overall superior team effort. For LA, they looked lost without Bryant leading the way. Kobe having 5 fouls hindered LA, just like how game 1 Allen wasn't present due to foul trouble.  Si Bynum lang nagstep-up talaga.  Generally though, I didn't like how the refs were making calls. 4th 1:59 left, Garnett clearly threw the ball out and still after the Ref made the reviews bola pa din ng Boston.

I am actually not decided who to root for since both LA and Boston are my favs.  Basta maganda labanan, ok sa akin. Now time for LA to win in the Boston Garden!

Well, on to Game 3 on wednesday. This was a bad game for the Lakers except for Bynum and Gasol. Kobe out of rhythm because of fouls. Kobe getting his 5th early in the 4th was key. No such thing as home court anyway between this teams.

Very good game indeed! not for the faint-hearted!

Terrific D overall by the Celtics. Particularly on Kobe who shot miserably in the 1st half even if still not in foul trouble.

Ray Allen and Rondo ate the black mamba alive in this game.  ;D

The keys to the win are the very good plays the Celtics got from its role players T. Allen, Davis, Sheed and Perk.  Nate made timely contributions too.

Ayos!  ;D

Good thing Ray Allen showed up, eh? Or else who would've picked up the slack? Old man KG was almost useless and Pierce was just there for moral support. Excellent D and plays by Rondo on the 4th. The LAkers need to knock down Ray and Rondo and make things harder for them.  ;D

If you're the lower seed in the Finals, this is the kind of split (and momentum) that you'd want heading into Games 3 to 5.

Huge game by Boston's backcourt.  It's LA's turn to make the adjustments.  Gotta stop Rondo.  >:(

Ref's calls have played a big role in the first two games.  Kobe obviously couldn't play effectively with the foul trouble, in the same way that Allen's game was affected in Game 1.   I also thought Phil Jackson sat Gasol much longer than he should have in the final quarter.  Odom wasn't helping anyway.  But nice to see Bynum play well, despite the loss.

STAT (c/o gameface): under the 2-3-2 scheme (which has been employed 29 times in the NBA Finals), there have been only seven 3-0 sweeps in the three middle games – three by the home squad (1955 Fort Wayne Pistons, 2004 Detroit Pistons and 2006 Miami Heat), and four by the road squad (1953 Minneapolis Lakers, 1990 Detroit Pistons, 1991 Chicago Bulls and 2001 LA Lakers).

EDIT: Wonder why Chris Bosh is seen often at Laker games...  ::)

Ray Allen put up a rainbow show, hit 8 triples and broke Scottie Pippen's record of 7 triples in the playoffs.  But for me, it was Rondo's all game brilliance that spelled doom for the Lakers.  As I said, when Rondo hits his stride it's very difficult for LA.  I am a Laker fan but several times I was in awe watching this guy Rondo!  Whew! In street lingo, ilang beses binastos si Kobe!  As expected, Boston adjusted and they did it very well.  Now it's the Laker's turn to adjust.

I'm sure they will bounce back.  The Lakers is a very tough road team, having closed out their previous series on the road.  And the record of Coach Phil still stands -- 47-0 when winning game 1 ;D  But they gotta have a game plan versus Rondo. >:(

See you on Thursday, everyone.

The referee decided who will win. They should call like its the finals and let the players decide who wins.  >:(

i believe in "a bad call deserves another bad call" by the refs. but i dont think its a per game basis. they do  that during the same game mostly after the next play. tough luck on kobe. i wish they can challenge the call like in football. hehe

:( agree...the officiating sucks bigtime...their calls were really not a FOUL kitang kita sa replay in diff. angles..their call either in both teams were outrageous.parang not The FINALS..They should let the player play the games....sobra kasensitive nung mga referee..hnep. The commentator even suggested na dapat daw magkaron din ng mga awards ang mga referee para pagbutihan ang kanilang decision making. ;D

^ +1 here..

The refs are calling it too tight both ways!  ..they really should just let them play their game ...it is the Finals anyway..

sportswriters say it's s conscious effort by the refs to call them as tightly as possible.  so expect more of the same.  teams just need to adjust.

The ugly officiating for game 2 was mainly in part because of anticipation of a physical game after all the "soft" talk of game 1. How did they react? By calling all those stupid fouls that have no place in the Finals. I was practically hoping that they call a 6th on Kobe just to see all hell break loose at Staples.

I really wish the league goes back to allowing hand-checking and more physical play. Its ridiculous how much some players drive in with the intention of getting fouled and the refs reward them 90% of the time.

Rondo & Sugar Ray both played a heck of a game.

Pierce was so-so.

KG's just a shadow of his old self. Still, he might be due for a great game at the TD Garden.

Boston needs a post game to at least challenge the Lakers bigs.  The reason for Bynum & Pau's success is they aren't being challenged defensively.

Although some of the calls could have gone either way, I found one sequence late in the game showed very bad judgment by the referees. It was the tap out by Kevin Garnett of the ball out of bounds. The referees reviewed it quite extensively and it was obvious that Kevin's hand was in front of Gasol so he touched the ball last. I don't really know what the referees were looking at. If they weren't sure, they should have called a jumpball instead of awarding the possession to the Celtics. Granted, the way the Lakers were playing, they would have thrown the ball again but still. That was one stupid call.
