masters may tanong lang po ako, balak ko bumili ng nmt pero ang avr ko ay htib lang so 5.1s lng sya. may optical po un diba so kakabit ko from nmt to htib. my question is pano po pag ngplay ako ng hd video tapos ung kasama nyang audio is 6.1 or dts, ano po ang mangyayari may maririnig ba ko na sound? tru surround parin ba pag nadownsize sya sa 5.1 or simulated nalang? or 2 channels lang ang maririnig ko? thanks in advance mga masters any comment is much appreciated

connected digitally - optical or coaxial - your HTIB will output whatever audio your HD movie was encoded with, DTS or DD or stereo will come out as it is.

You will hear what your HTIB can decode. If it can decode Dolby Digital, DTS and 2ch Linear PCM, then you'd be able to get those formats from the files you play.

If you have files with unsupported formats, then you might have to direct your media player to do the decoding for you. In most cases, this will be outputted as 2ch Linear PCM.

ah ok, so kung ung audio e mga dts hd and dd hd mga 8 channels ibig sabihin may lalabas parin na sound sa receiver ko kahit stereo lang? im just worried bka wlang audio na lumabas pag ganun 5.1 lang kse kaya nang receiver ko eh.hehe
