Thanks for coming master Ivan and master Paul. Thanks for helping me choose the right combination for critical and relaxed listening.
For critical listening:
Musiland 03
IC = OTA cables
Ice Power Amp
Speaker wires: Ecosse
Klipsch RB-81
(Yes. No preamp & sub
)
I never thought Musiland 03's RCA output can drive the input stage of the ICE power amp at near reference levels for critical listening. ICE amp has more than enough juice to drive my Klipsch with ease. Orchestra ensembles were really very fast. The drums were very snappy and sounded like it's there. The amp has a firm grip on my Klipsch. Nasa speaker plane ang mga performers and the instruments were properly laid 1-3 feet behind the performer and spaced evenly. There was minimal cluttering of instruments. It was never bright (for me). The imaging improved quite a lot coming from my previous system (Dared SL2000 preamp, bi-amp with 2A3 SET tube power amp and Vintage Onkyo Integra and Klipsch). Very lean, open and detailed ang sound. What made me happy was there is no evidence clipping sa Monger track (vs vintage Onkyo Integra). It brought The ICE power amp made me appreciate a non-tube set-up for my Klipsch. Studio master music was never this well defined.
Special thanks to master Ivan for fixing and recalibrating my PC in time. Super tahimik na nga ang PC ko ngayon.
Specs of ICE power amp:
Stereo 125w x 2/ch(4Ω), or 65w x 2/ch(8Ω), or 200w x 2/ch(2Ω) stable
Monoblock 550w x 1/ch(4Ω), or 275w x 1/ch(8Ω), via XLR input
Damping factor 8 ohms @, 100 hz = 500
Distortion Plot from the manufacturer:
The lows still lacks extension and weight due to the limitations of my RB-81 as I have yet to hook up my sub. For now, i'm enjoying my system for critical listening more than ever.
