* Sansui AU-alpha 99 *
« on: Oct 30, 2010 at 09:24 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had any information they can share on this particular model: power, when was made (I presume late 1990's in Japan only),  if there was an equivalent European model?, any comments on its sound and construction quality, etc..  (anyone have a copy of the owners/operating manual?)

Thanks,

B/F

ps:  I found another one on Yahoo Japan, but I'll need to install an English translator to read whatever information is available on it...

Sorry Fred but I don't have specific details of your amp. I believe, however, it was TOTL in Sansui's medium-size hifi line during its time. First time I saw such amp although I own speakers probably made for it -- the Sansui a9.

Thanks for the translator, it does help a little bit - I see now that its an auction from the past. But not sure which price was the final bid price.

I have a 1998 Sansui brochure in my collection of Sansui literature, but I didnt find the A-alpha 99 in it, even though I believe this model was made that year, according to the serial # on the back of the amp I'm getting. (the models in the brochure I have are: AU--907mrx, 607mrx, x710r, 4104, x310 and some other various dolby pro logic receivers, cassette decks, cd players, etc...

I spoke with my friend, Isao, who hosts www.sansui.us, and asked him if he can find out any info on his own or from some actual Sansui ex managers he knows.  I'll keep ypu guys informed if I hear anything.
