Moron 5 and the Crying Lady (2012) - powerful cast Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford, DJ Durano, Mart Escudero and Marvin Agustin but didn't deliver.  Looked like it was hastily done.  John Lapus as Becky was just too tiresome to watch. Guaranteed to lower your IQ.

Boy Pick up the Movie (2012) - another dumb moronic movie.  Am I just too old or Ogie's lines just didn't connect?  >:( A waste of time.

The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) - one of Roger Moore's better Bond movies.  His one liners never fails to make me laugh.   The Lotus-cum-submarine was just sooo cool!   ;) I can watch this over and over.

Bond: I think you just delivered it.

Ip Man (2008)- The setting is 1930s and Ip Man starred by Donnie Yen is a well respected and the best Kung Fu Master in Foshan but keeps life simple and doesn't teach the art.  Fast forward to 1937 when the Japs invaded China and General Miura (who is very good in japanese martial arts) challenges any Chinese kung fu fighter.  And so the story goes...

Donnie Yen flies in this movie.  The fight scenes were just amazing.  The presence of lovely Lynn Hung puts the icing on the cake.  ;)

I am not a fan of subtitled foreign based movies but this one is for keeps.   ;)

Terminator Salvation(2009) -  I dunno if this should be called a prequel or a sequel but this installment showed how John Connor was able to defeat Skynet.  Wonderful performances of Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.  I appreciated Sam better after watching Avatar and Clash of the Titans.  I was expecting more though from the Skynet Terminators.  ??? Thin plot but a lot of HT audio workout. I appreciated this movie better the 2nd time around.

Hulk vs. (2009)- a lot of us who were born in the comic age would always want to watch how superheroes would fare against each other.  Hulk vs Wolverine and Hulk vs Thor is featured in this DVD.  Has some gore but what the heck, my four year old loved it.  ;D

Madagascar 3 :Europe's Most Wanted (2012)- a dazzling display of colors and is the best one yet.  Judging from the 2D version, the 3D one would be spectacular. Very good video demo material.  ;)

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 (2012)- Papi, Chloe and the puppies goes to a posh dog friendly hotel (complete with a doggie spa) when their owners Rachel and Sam got accepted as employees.  Everybody were excited except Rosa who felt smaller and less special than the others.  She later on discovers her inner strength and ends up with a charming finale.  I enjoyed this movie as much as the first 2 BHCs.  The voices behind the characters just breathe life to these animals which makes one forget that it is a dog movie.   It is an enjoyable and heartwarming movie for the family....DOG!  ;D ;D ;D

Prometheus (2012) - I dunno what the fuss is all about.  The movie starts slow just like in Alien which you just have to painstakenly go through to reach the exciting part towards the end.  It cannot maintain interest as I was looking at the time stamp every now and then.  It had a wonderful cast though which was headed by Noomi Rapace who became my fave after waching the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Charlize Theron had a supporting actor role but didn't shine well here. If this is the beginning of a 3 part prequel of the Alien franchise, I'll be looking forward to better installments.  O0

Fire with Fire (2012) - murder witness...crime Lord after the witness...witness under government protection...government failed to protect witness...witness goes vigilante and takes matters in his own hands.  Plot sounds familiar? Forego the familiar story and just be entertained.  Its just so sad that they spread Bruce Willis' name on the cover to sell this.  I have been a sucker of such ploys as I watched Setup and Catch .44 expecting an ass kickin' Die Hard Bruce Willis and got disappointed in the end. Oh well, this movie got me...AGAIN!  >:(

Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) -a modern adaptation of the famous fairytale.  The movie had a very good execution of the novel as I imagined it. Wonderful casting with Kirsten Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth (now swinging an axe rather than a hammer).  ;D Highly recommended!

The Haunting of Whaley House (2012)- A group of friends looking forward on a thrill by entering a haunted house one Saturday night.  At first it was fun, but when the supernatural takes over, things get scary.  This movie presents nothing new.  Maybe it would be a worthwhile watch with a date to keep your partner closer.  ;)

The Blair Witch Project (1994)- a repeat viewing. Just wanted to watch again the movie that started  the found footage genre. Not so much impact as much as I first viewed this in VHS.

The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy

While contemplating on whether to order or not the bloated 6 BDs / 9 DVDs Extended Edition, my wife & I decided to watch the old R1 DVDs which incidentally is now mildly affected by the dreaded rot.
