Sister Stella L
One of the few Filipino movies with social relevance that I watched pre-EDSA revolution. The story is about a nun who opened her eyes to the realities of daily wage earners' struggle against injustices and government oppression. It garnered several Urian awards for both cast and crew, including best picture in 1984.
My only regret in watching this again is the realization that producers don't make films like this (together with "Kapit Sa Patalim", "Maynila sa Kuko ng Liwanag", etc.) as they used to any more.
